That is all the numbers tell me. "Make America Great Again" my foot. That is complete and utter bull feces. First of all, America hasn't been great for everybody, until about 1970. Second, when did America stop "being great"?

They believe everything he says. He's their Chosen one. History is full of bad leader that the population was mesmerized by. All ended badly.

Remember that? Be sure to read the comments by the Trump fans at the bottom of the article. They are a perfect example of just naiive Trump fans can really be. They actually thought that would happen, and ridiculed democrats and Obama for not being able to do it! One commenter was even more outrageous:

Nearly two years later, a dose of reality is due.

You can find quarterly real GDP growth here. Below are the numbers since Trump took office, with the quarter in which he uttered those words in red. You can also find the same data on the BEA website here.

2017-Q1: +2.3%
2017-Q2: +2.2%
2017-Q3: +3.2%
2017-Q4: +3.5%
2018-Q1: +2.5%
2018-Q2: +3.5%
2018-Q3: +2.9%
2018-Q4: +1.1%
2019-Q1: +3.1%
2019-Q2: +2.0%

Do you see any 4%? Any 5%? Any 6%?

No, you don't. Even with the tax cuts Trump said would usher in a period of mega-growth, we see nothing of the kind. All you see is rather mediocre 2's, a few 3's and one 1%, same as we saw under Obama.

The point here is to demonstrate the fantasy world Trump and his fans live in. Just because Trump says something is going to happen, does not mean it will.
Your time and typing would be better served touting all the lies from Schiff, and all the Russia BS, Coloooosion, and other stupidity that's wasted America's patience for two years. The Loser Left never quits!

President Trump's second term will test your sanity for sure.

I am soooo sorry you don't like reading about Trump's failed promises, and that the boom he predicted has come to naught. Now, go out and get yourself a scoop of ice cream, maybe it'll make you feel better.

That.

And don’t forget, the Baby Boomers are entitled to live forever at the expense of the young. So that means even more wealth sucked out of the young.

That's one of the best deflections I have seen in some time.

So basically...

Trump spent trillions in deficit-financed tax cuts, which resulted in exactly the same rate of growth we had before he was elected.

Stable genius, indeed.

And we are fighting higher immigration levels why? The only way to increase GDP is more people or increases in productivity.

Oh, you mean all the people whose life span is getting SHORTER due to our health care system (or lack of it)????

Remember, one party doesn't want good health care for all...and preventative medicine....and more healthy foods. They love spending 11K per person per year for big Health Care....

Whether you are 8 or 80 your cost is 11k per year per person. In fact, that 8 year old will cost a LOT more per year going forward.

Sorry - the only selfish ones here are called Republicans who would rather spend double the price as the rest of the world for worse health care because they think they are "sticking it to the libs".

And that's priceless to them.

What the heck are you talking about?

So, based on what you are saying, GDP didn't go up because
a. Health care costs more
b. Interest rates were artificially lowered causing people to borrow and spend more
c. The Government spent more than ever
d. "Tax Cuts from Debt and Deficit" give people a few bucks more

NONE of that has to do with productivity. We know manufacturing is hurting, so no GDP increases there.

This gets to the heart of the matter - that GDP doesn't really matter much at this point. It's really the distribution and baselines that affect most people. When 47% (for example) of Floridians aren't making it, they aren't celebrating when the Billionaire gets a tax cut - they are more interesting in getting health care.

If the deficit was cut in 1/2 from the last Obama years and we didn't give tax cuts and the ACA was expansed and we had even 1% GDP growth, it would be a fine thing. But with all the desperate measures that have been taken...the average person is still not feeling it.
