Stereotyped, intimidated, racism, and uncomfortable, all words used by shoppers to describe their shopping experience at a Kroger in South Fulton.

“I think it’s kind of racist you definitely see that here on Old National,” said a mother of three who had just finished shopping.

College Park Kroger shoppers are upset over a new security installation leaving them to feel stereotyped.

“You won’t see that in Fayetteville or maybe Cobb County anywhere, doubt it,” said the mother.

The security installation only has one entrance.

An officer with the city of South Fulton, on duty at the store, said the Kroger doesn't have anymore thefts than other stores in the area.

Cops are only called if the store has apprehended or can identify the thief, so how would he know how much theft the store has experienced?

Police officers are frequently hired to provide security to private establishments in their off duty hours. He may be their security guard.

Their inventory probably shows a huge loss due to theft, so they took what they feel are appropriate measures to reduce this.

Good point, but unless he's catching every thief, those numbers probably would not be shared with him. It's proprietary information.

Obviously since they spent money doing this and admitted the reason in their statement, there's a problem at that store. If they didn't do it in the other stores he's citing, then there's more theft at this store.

No, Kroger isn't racist. They're protecting their inventory from threat in a high crime area. Would these idiots rather Kroger close down the store? Then they'd complain about being in a "food desert".
