That is fact, the deal Obama agreed to is a band aid at best and irrelevant at it's worse.

Obama was the one who gave them a lot of money.
You can blame him for that.

To be fair those were Iranian assets that were subject to international litigation at the time. It's really the timing, how it unfolded and other events that made it highly suspicious, e.g. it was the day the deal took affect and Iran agreed to release US hostages. Nothing to see here folks.

Yeah, key provision would have expired in 15 years.
Thanks to Trump, they're expired NOW.

How is that in any way, shape or form a BETTER situation?

I would suggest it's the same situation since the deal Obama made at best simply kicked the can down the road. At it's worse it had no affect but since we can't verify that it's anyone's guess.

And in 15 years a whole lot could change. There would likely be a whole new set of leaders in Iran - ones with virtually no memory of the "revolution" and the crises that led to animosity towards America and the West.
In 1980 the Cold War was in full swing. !5 years later it was OVER. So, in 15 years things could be very, very different. 15 years gives time for things to cool off and relations to normalize.

Instead, we have a developing crises NOW - thanks to Trump.
What an idiot.

Ken

Now, to all of you who believe Iran is holding the cards in this game, need I refresh your memory?

Last week, under the cover of darkness, a secret mission was undertaken to get the leader of Isis, which proved successful.
No one publicly knew of this mission, until it was completed.
Do yo really think the president is going to let Iran produce nuclear weapons capable of destroying much of the middle east?

For all any of us know, another secret mission is being planned to wipe out all of Iran's nuclear capability.
We are just not informed of such a plan, nor should we be.
The invasion of that Isis compound was studied, and executed with unparalleled secrecy.
Even those in our government knew nothing about the raid on that compound until it was completed.
Do you actually think the president is going to go public with a plan that could literally wipe Iran from the planet?

If you believe the president is sitting back, unwilling to confront Iran's nuclear plans, you are living under a rock.

Early on in his campaign to be president, Trump stated," you never let the enemy know your plans in advance. to do so would make any plans worthless."
I don't have to be siting in the war room, or the situation room at the white house to understand where the president is coming from when it comes to dealing with Iran.

Bob.

Wrong!
The "iran deal" gave them a path to do this just a few years from now. The difference is they now have to try to do it with a crippled economy.

Obama didn't pay for anything. That was Iran's money that was just given back to them for complying with the agreement. But you knew that already, right?

Op is a partisan with no apparent logical skills.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclea...5_negotiations

Quote:
During February to July 2014 the P5+1 and Iran have held high-level negotiations on a comprehensive agreement on Iran's nuclear program in Vienna, Austria. After six rounds of talks the parties missed the deadline for reaching a deal and agreed to extend the negotiations through 24 November. Additionally, it was agreed that the U.S. will unblock $2.8 billion in frozen Iranian funds, in exchange for Iran continuing to convert its stocks of 20% enriched uranium into fuel.[373]
......
On 5 November 2019, Iranian nuclear chief Ali Akbar Salehi announced that Iran will enrich uranium to 5% at the Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant, adding the country had the capability to enrich uranium to 20% if needed.[379]
So basically, in past years Iran already enriched to 20%...and now are just going to enrich to 5%. Hmmmmm.....that means that during previous administrations Iran was enriching to 20% but now that they are enriching to 5%....that's a whole new level of bad.
