I don't think that's really it, their making sure nobody stole, but you cannot treat every customer as a potential thief.
If they have dozens of cameras set up through out the store and someone is paid to be sitting and watching cameras, can't they see who is stealing and approach the thieves specifically?
No one at Walmart has ever asked to inspect any of my purchases nor have I ever seen other shoppers at Walmart inspected.
There was a long line of people getting bags checked at my Walmart this morning. I just walked around them and said "no thanks".
I was not the only one.
You just got checked out, blew a wad of cash, then someone rummages through your bags and scrutinizes your purchase. Yeah, nothing bothersome about that..
Doesn't bother me - or any other mentally healthy person - one bit. It takes a few seconds of your time and helps keep prices down. How does this hurt you in any way?

You're very brave. Perhaps you should get some sort of medal or something for circumventing a non-intrusive method to reduce theft.

So if you want to wait in another long line after you waited 10 minutes to check out, go ahead. i have a family to go home to. I don't live in mama's basement.

I've never waited more than a minute or so in the receipt check line, if at all. I routinely used to wait 30 minutes or more in the checkout line at Walmart, which is why I no longer go there. If you truly have to wait 10 minutes in the receipt check line, I'd go around also. But I suspect you're exaggerating a wee bit.
I really hate my generation, While they're often right in certain aspects ie; disadvantages, economics etc.
**** like this makes me cringe, These are the same liberals complaining about this and when these positions which are primarily held by seniors & vets etc. get taken away, then they'll cry because of that.

No. Had about 8 registers open, Sat. morning, and one person doing bag check.
