Actually that has been overturned according to this article: https://www.newsweek.com/walmart-dis...t-eeoc-1472346
Our store got rid of all of them. All employees must be able to lift 25 lbs. to work there. They even got rid of the one cashier that had to sit on a stool. Greeters are no longer allowed to sit either.

Besides, the bagcheck is voluntary. many choose not to volunteer.

It deprives me of the progressive opportunity to redistribute other people's wealth to myself so I am hurt.

Another thread on city-data filled with self-proclaimed "conservatives" whining about private business protecting its own interests on its own property.

It is voluntary. I have the right to not participate. If it was legally mandatory, I would no longer shop there.

I only use the self-checkout at Walmart if the regular lines are backed up. The local Walmart has hired a young woman to monitor the self-checkout and she is overly aggressive. The other day I was in the self-checkout and she yells at me, "Sir, you have to weight those grapes." I think she thought I was going to put them in a bag without paying for them. They were still in my hand when the price came up on the screen. She quickly apologized, but I thought it was poor customer service.

I have never seen anyone doing receipt checks at Walmart or any store. I have noticed the local newspaper has been publishing numerous police reports of shoplifting cases at two local Walmarts. Some of these are people using the self-checkout and others are cases where they push a cart out of the store with items they have not paid for. One local Walmart has reported a guy who went through the self-checkout and did not pay for a crossbow and case valued at almost $400.
