All it did was embolden Russia to keep pushing and the result was the invasion of Ukraine and all of the nonsense during the election.

If you show your enemies strength, they'll respect that strength even if they hate it. If you show them weakness, they'll still hate you, but on top of that they won't respect you either.
So really, this to you is all about a matter of respect? Being dissed? That's the stupidest hill to die on ever.

Anyone praising what happened has no clue. Kidnapping and retaliation killings will likely occur anywhere. Remember the Lebanon hostage crisis? This isn't a simple situation where you kill a terrorist & it's done & the country is no longer an enemy.

I don't care who ordered the assassination, whether it was Obama, Bush, or Trump. Targeted assassinations are illegal & are for a reason.

You can’t back the Iranians into a corner in their own region. It’s their home, we’re just visiting. Didn’t you learn anything from the 4500 dead Americans in Iraq?

The Iranians will bide their time and respond in kind. We’ve just knocked a hornet’s nest down to the ground, and the Iranian wasps WILL sting....hard. And people are gonna get hurt. Badly.

I hope you’ll be sounding this cocky in a year.
Yep. Look at all the Rambo wannabes strutting around like they leveled up on a video game.

That would be the most simple minded interpretation of what I said, but if that's the only way you can process it then sure, we can go with that.

Since we need to speak on that level, let's just say that some people did something which forced the US to do something. No big deal right?

What matters in all of this is Iran’s response, if we go to war and we lose thousands of Americans like we have in Iraq, was it worth it? I see Obama getting blamed, and Trump, but no one should forget that the Bush administration lied us into war with Iraq so ******** Cheney could pocket a few more billion.

The Iraq war has proven that you have two choices in the Middle East, turn it into glass, or leave it all together.

Trump and his administration hopefully have a plan for this attack, if this goes bad he just cost himself the 2020 election and cost a lot of American lives.

Rot in hell terrorist. Remember Soleimani also orchestrated the Benghazi attack in addition to Iraq. Embassies are US sovereign soil. We can’t allow terrorists to attack us multiple times without any retaliation. He’s also completely destabilized the region, ordered the majority of the attacks on our soldiers, literally no one outside of pro-regime Iranian fundamentalists like this guy. Everyone wanted him dead. Iran at worst will attack Iraqi, Saudi, possibly Israeli targets. Zero percent chance they will attack us directly in any way. The escalation here was with Soleimani and Hezbollah attacking our embassy. It wasn’t when Trump responded. 10000% the right move by Trump here. Good on him.

Now all this does is cause more troops to be deployed to the region as a 'precaution.'

Over 16 years in that mess of a place, billions and billions and billions of US taxpayer money wasted, tens of thousands of US troops killed or maimed, while we have problems protecting American borders and feeding and housing our homeless. That is beyond obscene and has nothing to do with political affiliation but common sense and decency.

President Trump, please bring back ALL our Americans home. NOW.
Wow, can't believe I'm saying this, but I completely agree. Unfortunately, more will be wasted. Eisenhower warned us, apparently nobody listened.
