Schmidt's reasoning is on spot and is part and parcel as to why I slowly left the gop; the party I was raised in but had to leave because of the disgrace that it became over a long period of time.

Because Trumpism as a movement traded most of the existing principled conservative base for a previously dis-engaged base of sociopathic nihilist trolls.

The remaining base is an unholy union of hardcore evangelist theocrats and basically the dregs of youtube comment section posters.

It remains to be seen which group is larger.

That was not his call. Sarah got the passenger list from all the cruise ships coming to Alaska. She invited those of her political persuasion for helicopter tours. She was pushed by Bill Krystol and others.

By the time she got to Schmidt, he thought they had vetted her. Bet he couldn't believe any governor could be so ignorant of government. But she is great at self promotion.

Schmidt left the Republican Party nearly 2 years ago.

There are reasons why more people identify as Independent/ Unaffiliated than either Republican or Democrat.
