This won't happen, but it might be useful if people distinguished between health care, and the financing of it.

Actual health care in the US appears to be quite innovative and cutting-edge.

Problem appears to be how access to it is regulated and financed.

To start with, the open price mechanism is almost nowhere to be seen. In fact, industry lobbyists and their minions in the various legislatures are fiercely against it.

If we start there, then maybe we can reasonably think about subsidies, like a national insurance pool, for those who can't navigate a resource-allocation system based on the price mechanism.

I'm not holding my breath.

But I do try to eat a healthy balanced diet and exercise - in an attempt to avoid altogether this "illness maintenance" system, as vkhmini aptly put it - as grown up a thing that I can possibly do by myself.

Good Luck!

Also, I got turned down by THREE healthcare companies. I had to sign up for Medicaid to get disability. My mom says I don't really need the money, but only Medicaid would take me.

I heard that if you earn too much, you can lose your disability.

The healthcare system in America is a complete joke.

Once again, who passed the law you're complaining about?

Let's summarize, the GOVERNMENT passed a law that has you upset, so you are mad at whom?

Why does the healthcare system make people jump through hoops to get the stuff they need?
Too much Fed Gov interference, à la regulations. And the idiot lefties want even more of the same. You can't fix stupid. /smh

It was until the insurance & drug companies got involved.
At least the Dems had a plan.
Where is the Republican healthcare plan to fix ObamaCare?

Halt it? Im not sure what you mean that, but a free market unhindered by the FDA, AMA, insurance lobby and a host of other cartels/govt agencies/lobbies would assuredly provide solutions in a quicker more efficient manner.
