God, he's such a freaking moron. This is why a narcissistic, reality television star should not be leading this country.

He told the governors NOT to rely on the federal government. He told them to get their own ventilators; respirators and medical supplies.

Remember the old saying about Obama 'leading from behind"?

What the HELL is Trump doing right now? He's not leading one damn thing

He sure did tell us that - on January 22, no less.

And we have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China, and we have it under control. It’s going to be just fine.

This was his comment on January 30:

Quote:
We have it very well under control. We have very little problem in this country at this moment — five. And those people are all recuperating successfully.”
On 2/2/20 - when asked about the virus by Hannity - Trump responded:

Quote:
“Well, we pretty much shut it down coming in from China. We have a tremendous relationship with China, which is a very positive thing. Getting along with China, getting along with Russia, getting along with these countries.”
I could go on and on. Trump - other than barring most foreigners from China at the end of January - did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

That is all you need to know. Connect the dots.

Wrong.

The virus itself is obviously not Trump's fault.

People blame Trump for his lies and flip flopping (see the Trump timeline in post #26)

Criticizing Trump about the lies and flip flopping in that timeline doesn't make anyone anything other than a person criticizing Trump for the lies and flip flopping in that timeline. It doesn't make that person a Democrat. It doesn't make that person a liberal. It doesn't make that person someone who said anything about collusion with Russia, and it doesn't make that person someone who said anything about a phone call to a foreign leader.

Everything isn't 'Us vs. Them'.

TDS.

There's no reason to think he has done a bad job compared to what another President would have done. We can speculate about Hillary's or Biden's response, but there's nothing in their histories to suggest they would have been more competent. The only real point of comparison is President Woodrow Wilson, whose response to the "Spanish" Flu in 1918 was to ignore his medical advisers and make sure it spread as fast as possible.

Trump looks like a clairvoyant genius compared to Wilson.

Reality is none of us know. A little less than half the people will vote for Biden. So saying no one wants him is obviously not true. And a little less than half will vote for Trump no matter how it goes.

The decision of whether Trump is reelected or not comes down to voters in swing states. The ones that often go back and forth from D or R and back again. And their decision will be impacted on how bad the virus gets as well as the economy and how it is in November as well as their take on how Trump handled it. If you look at the coronavirus numbers we are going to pass 10,000 new cases a day probably by the weekend. We will surpass China's numbers in a week or so. And there are still states that have small numbers, many of whom are not being proactive enough. And we still need to do a much better job testing everyone that should be getting one. Its like an out of control wildfire that is being whipped towards millions of acres of dry brush and we are having trouble turning the water on.

Since Trump can't do campaign rallies he seems to be taking the daily coronavirus briefings as a sort of replacement to those rallies. The more he can stay on message and not get sidetracked by fighting with reporters and others the better it will go for him. He has to be presidential. In this way he has a huge advantage over Biden who has really disappeared the past few weeks.

Trump was warned 2 yrs ago that the US was not prepared. He not only chose to ignore our experts but he dismantled the global health security team. This is all on him.

4,500 more in Germany today....you must REALLY think Merkel did a terrible job.

59 cases per million apparently is awful....or at least that's what you need to sell due to partisan hackery.

Germany, really? They are doing outstanding job so far, considering the number of infections. Testing in volume since January. Much lower mortality rate than the US. Anything else you want to know?

Sadly, any system can be eventually overwhelmed. For now, they are not.

P.S. Lastly, as I said in similar threads, we currently proudly occupy LAST place in testing among the developed (and some not very developed) countries. Questions?

Taiwan is not just "fine". They are also in it, too. Just like the rest of the world.

Once again, what do you want? Martial law? You keep criticizing the US but you don't say what should be done.

"Criminal"? Oh, get a grip already.

Most would disagree with your DNC-provided analysis. He will be reelected.
