And...its not a crisis for the vast majority of those of serving age. Now for their upper leadership its a pretty serious threat. Navy warships are insanely cramped due to their nature, they will make cruise ships look safer.
And keep in mind, the military cases are now not being reported, and I can actually understand why. When this is all over I hope the actual figures will be released, it will be interesting if it affects future design of naval vessels accommodations.
It's an interesting dilemma. We need our military active and fully functional, yet the conditions aboard any ship simply don't allow for the kind of measures they need to take, to keep from infecting each other.
I'd say that the Navy is a great place for the use of hydroxychloroquine as a prophylactic. Perhaps some could be spared for them.
Well what the captain wants is just not going to happen - putting 4000 soldiers in land-based quarantine and taking a carrier out of commission. They are simply going to have to develop "herd immunity" within the ship.
