You are making a big assumption. Nobody knows if this virus will slow down or disappear in the summer. And when fall comes we will have flu + Corona virus at the same time. Combine that with some states "opening for business" and the lack of masks and we will see a much larger death toll starting in September. By the time November voting rolls around, all of Trump's happy talk will not save him in the face of more deaths than we have seen so far. .

Only about 12% of Americans thought the lock down was extreme. By election time voters will have a clear picture of a President who was a dismal failure at precisely the time the American people needed a world class leader. He has nothing to gain whether we are in a second wave of covid19 or whether we are through the worst of it.

Well, you’re not wrong that the electorate has a short memory. I think June/July is generous. If this happened in October maybe...

But it’s still too soon to predict what the virus will be doing in October and what we’ll be doing in response to it.

The whole premise of this thread is pretty disgusting but what does one expect from Trump supporters?

I remember hearing A LOT of that same sort of talk at this time back in 2016.

Remember Hillary. And she was a much better candidate that Joe Biden.

I too feel the timing was not right. I am more worried both parties are in it if its someting related to 5G..

And BTW please, everything is not about Trump....get over it.

Not the pandemic.

The way that Democrats are using the pandemic as a political weapon.

Democrats have long proven that they're not above anything if they think it will hurt Trump.

Almost every country has shut down their economies to some extent. Are they all doing to hurt Trump as well?

Sadly, there are likely many a leftist who wishes that covid did hit us later in the year for exactly why you stated.
