I am sick of this social distancing nonsense and we must completely reopen NOW! And when I mean completely reopen, reopen everything as it was before this "new normal." I am sick of seeing "we will return when it's safe." What a bunch of wimps society has become to be afraid of everything! The virus will not go away! We must accept that it will be a part of our lives. Those who truly want to stay afraid, as well as the elderly and immunocompromised can stay at home and let the rest of us LIVE again.

I support the lockdown protesters in the USA and I am stunned that no one else in the world is protesting. What a bunch of wimps the rest of the world is; or maybe they are too afraid of their governments to express how they really feel. I am thankful to live in the USA where we have the freedoms and the balls to express how we feel.
I live in a red state --- not everything is opened....is Governor McMasters of South CArolina a fascist.

I may not like not going to movie theaters anymore. That I think is the biggest loss for me. Going out to eat, I don't really miss. Fast food I normally did online or kiosk at McDonald's or taco Bell already. I rather we take a conservative and measured approach. Call me a whimp, call me a facist, call me whatever but I think it is best if we just stay at home if we can.

I am so mad that much of this is political greed and political agenda from people who have not the citizen's health, safety, and livelihood as their priority, but politics taking precedence. And power trips.
Your post is ironic...

I enjoy watching 3D movies with my family in Regal and AMC theaters. Can't really do that at home even though I do have a large TV.

Depends on the mall..my mall closed down years ago and the other one while still open isn't as visited as it used to be. Except for certain states people don't shop as much at the mall anymore when they can get so many things online.
I agree that going to a mall isn't absolutely necessary. But it is fun to walk around a do window shopping once in a while. I also like the social aspect of it.

People actually read besides me? Then why do kids today have poor language skills?
I think public libraries are the greatest resource that governments have made available. I can bury myself with reading books for hours. I miss this the most and I want my kids to become avid readers.

I haven't had a haircut in years. It's about the same length and it's healthy. A few months of not getting a haircut is not going to hurt anybody.
Nobody is going to die from not getting a haircut. But I'm a guy and it looks disorderly and makes me feel lazy.

Sounds like a rich person problem. I've wanted to travel internationally but haven't got to yet and I've been on this Earth for a good minute (not going to say my age)
I enjoy traveling and planned to go to a couple of Asian countries this summer. I would like to have that freedom back.

What exactly do you want? To attend a movie or rock concert? To get on a plane?
You are more than able to go to work in a meat plant, Walmart or the drive-thru if you so desire. School administrators are still trying to figure out the next school year.
Most of us aren’t so eager to be in close contact with each other yet. I am not a fascist. Just careful. I am not standing in the way of your life; just protecting mine.

The myth of rugged individualism is going to be the death of us, as it's already putting the US at a disadvantage as the plutocracy uses the myth so pull off the biggest heist in history, convincing people their interests align.

Selfish, simple-minded people who think everything is all about themselves without any regard to the community are being the biggest babies in the country right now. Heaven forbid people use this time to learn something, catch up on a list of books, save money for a rainy day, etc.

So, a good deal of normal life is on hold.
Imagine there was no stay at home orders, and the virus ran unchecked. I'm sure all the businesses you mentioned would be thriving right now.

Here's what you are really trying to say:

Selfish, simple-minded people who think everything is all about themselves without any regard to MY PERSONAL DESIRES AND FEARS are being the biggest babies in the country right now.

“We” aren’t setting the schedule to re-open.
“The government” ultimately isn’t setting the schedule to re-open.

“The virus” will set the schedule, because until it subsides and consumers feel confident to shop/eat out again, demand won’t exist strongly enough to allow owners to be confident enough to re-open.

Health concerns will ultimately trump economic concerns.

They wouldn't. Movie theaters saw a 50% dip in the 12th weekend of 2020 from the same weekend in 2019... Captain Marvel alone beat the aggregate of the 2020 movies in theaters... Malls besides spring sales and mother's day are typically in a somewhat lull. Haircuts I know I need mine in about a week maybe two. My hair just gets thick and at times in the last few days I've noticed it getting too thick.
