Oh ffs, stop being so thick; his comments weren’t relevant to our discussion.

And yes, the people Trump has on stage are 99% of the time yes-men. Anyone who doesn’t follow Trump’s agenda are generally not allowed back.

So...just what have the "experts" gotten right on this virus?

-No human to human transmission
-No need for tests from foreign countries, our own industry or universities-the CDC has this (and banned all other tests). Only to screw the pooch hard and waste a month at the start of this pandemic
-If you touch anything another person has you're going to die.
-We NEED 500,000 ventilators
-2-5 million Americans will die
-Masks bayd
-We need to "lockdown" for a couple of weeks to "flatten the curve"
-You can't go outside without a mask on
-We need to "lockdown" for a few years until there is a vaccine

If it wasn't so serious, our "experts" would be a damn joke. Just what have they gotten right during this whole thing? These "experts" are responsible for 30 million Americans losing their jobs, hundreds of thousands of businesses destroyed, life's savings lost.
Some do not grasp novel ( new) virus

We don’t know what we don’t know.

Heck we don’t know if there is a single or multiple strains.

The projection of 2 million deaths assumed no controls or changes to personal behavior. The Trump Administration publishEd Social and Distancing guidelines which triggered states to act.

There has been no lockdown. What’s with the hyperbole?

Fluid situation...so much we still don't know about Covid 19...CDC messed up on initially saying to not wear masks...of course they changed their tune there....since it is spread by droplets...

So, in other words, they were using precautionary measures in the event that this virus was serious and dangerous enough to cause harm to spectators and players.

You’re proving my point exactly. We didn’t have a clear idea of what we were dealing with, so better safe than sorry,

Excuse my limited science knowledge, but doesn't every living bacterial or virus need another living host in order to survive? How long can these living viruses live on an inanimate object, i.e., plastic bag, before they perish?

Looks like hours to days depending on the type of surface - but it does not appear to be a primary method of transmission right now.

Like scientists have said, it's a novel virus and new things are discovered and learned everyday. In the meantime, taking precautions is.....

No, not necessarily. Some bacteria form spores that can live a long time, such as tetanus and c. diff, which can survive for years.

Some ballpark figures for how long:

The CDC wanted to ensure that the extremely limited supply of masks went to medical professionals, so it lied to the public about how much masks were needed. Then, when the supply wasn't as limited, they told the truth and demanded everyone wear a mask. Does that sum it up?

When you only have isht to make a sandwich, you make an isht sandwich; would you rather vast amounts of medical professionals (which in the grand scheme of things, are more valuable to the cause than the average joe) die from the lack of PPE, because our government was grossly underprepared?

Which is to say this is by no means an excuse for them having lied; however, there is no denying that many of their recent actions have been politically motivated in favor of White House agendas. They undoubtedly should have said that there wasn’t remotely enough PPE for both medical professionals and the public.

That being said, the CDC’s incompetency hardly forms a basis for calling experts in general “a damn joke” as the OP has done.
