Hospitalization numbers are the key: not positive test results as 1) testing has increased drastically and 2) the virus may be losing its potency or mutating to a less severe form as deaths have gone down dramatically on the downslope by the week in the Northeastern U.S in the the past three weeks.

I don't know if cases will go up because of the protests, but there are several states that have been consistently seeing a rise in cases. Nothing deceptive or a hoax about that.

Are those rise in cases also accompanied by a rise in hospitalizations? Otherwise, I'd just say it's due to the rise of testing.

It's a combination. There have also been more deaths.

If the number of cases don't spike, I'll say "thank goodness". That's about it. The pandemic isn't over yet.

That is correct. The next two weeks will tell the story.

Here in South Caroina we are seeing new highs every day -- we've been 'opened' for three weeks.

And there was a spike after Mothers Day and Memorial Day.....blah blah.

Already evidence that relaxing social distancing is impacting the virus in many communities.

I will add --- some communities almost all the protesters have masks on........

Many people with COVID-19 had multiple negative tests befgore testing positive. If they had died before the test turned positive, they should not count?

The numbers on all the websites are just that, numbers. Any idiot with access can go in and add 5 here, 10 there, 1000 this other place.
The COVID-19 deaths are showing in the higher than expected total deaths on a week by week basis.

True. My coworker's nephew had it. Young adult (20s) lots of symptoms and very sick for 5 weeks. He had two negative tests before his third positive test. Classic symptoms all along.
