”We are in the middle of a nine-minute silence to honor the life of George Floyd, and the lives of all black people. The doors will open upon completion.”

Per the bolded. being annoyed by a delay to enter the building is different than being locked in.

I am not sure how I would have personally responded to being locked in, but if an employee did not immediately open a door for me as I tried to exit, I can state they would not have had their nine minutes of silence.

Absolutely.

If it was me locked inside the store, I would have done my best to give them their nine minutes of shattered glass.

Absolutely positively odd that Macys did that.

It's not the place for it.

Definitely a inconvenience.

Now if they announced BEFORE the closing of the doors that they were going to close the store for 9 minutes and people chose not to leave -- that's on them I guess.......
I couldn't find anything in the news about Macy's doing this.

I know what you mean. One is a threat to others. The other tries to pass counterfeit money. Bring the troops home and protect our borders like the Constitution says.

Neither could I, but it happened. I hope you’re not implying that I made the story up, as some other liberals on this thread have done. Also, if you check up some pages (I don’t want to go through them all), another poster linked to a couple of twitter remarks from different people complaining about the same thing.

No, I am not implying that.

I wanted more information, to lock people in a store is weird, and probably a violation of fire safety laws.

Over the few months she has been extremely hostile and nearly all of her posts are inflammatory which bashes liberals ( by calling them leftists) , blacks or if jews are involved, then anti semites. Or the hypothetical questions like " Why should I spend my tax payer money for blacks and illegals" or "will blacks be satisfied with a 290$ reparation" .

Oh, the irony. A poster cannot complain about a business that is virtue signaling without being accused of virtue signaling.

What you folks are doing is piling on based on a lot of previous posts that have gotten your underwear in a bundle. Why not counter the posts you disagree with as they come up so you're intelligently attacking her opinion instead of attacking her personally? If you have valid points and she doesn't, you'll win. But doing this kind of thing only makes you look bad.

OK, thank you. Didn’t mean to jump down your neck, but I have been beaten up pretty badly on this thread for reporting a very true incident. And I did try to find it in the news, to back it up, I couldn’t find it either.

Also, I can figure out why they did lock the doors. The staff were required to halt everything and focus entirely on the tribute, and it would have been ripe for shoplifters. Still, they doesn’t mean it isn’t in violation of fire safety, and, of course, doesn’t mean that it’s the correct action for a store serving the public of all political persuasions to take.

Just make sure you scream "BLACK LIVES MATTER!!" while you're doing it. They won't touch you then.
