Flu-like symptoms, which means plenty of people can have the Coronavirus but don't see the doctor. I've never seen the doctor for flu-like symptoms in my life as the flu is a normal part of life. Seems the only difference between the flu and Coronavirus is shortness of breath.

COVID is going to come back across the country, far worse than before too, because the virus is still there, hardly anyone is immune, and Americans are unwilling to endure even the slightest sacrifice and, frankly, ignorant and stupid about wearing masks and avoiding crowded indoor places.

Or maybe Americans are becoming better informed and less susceptible to the fear mongering media propaganda? People went along with the lockdowns the first time because they didn't have time to question it and they were led to believe it would be a few weeks and would solve the problem. They have come to understand that officials imposing "temporary" lockdowns intend to extend those lockdowns much longer than they say. They have come to understand that locking down does not reduce the number infected in the long run. They have come to understand that if opening on May 1 results in a spike on June 1, then waiting to reopen on Aug 1 simply means a spike on Sept 1. They have come to understand that the economy will not survive a lockdown anywhere remotely close enough to "buy time" to get a vaccine. They have come to understand thatthe goal posts keep getting moved, that keeping number of "cases" from rising was not the stated goal. They have come to understand that this is not an equl opportunity disease, despite anecdotal examples, and that 95% of the most serious cases are older people with contributing factors. They have come to understand that the mortality rate is about 0.5% not 5-10%.

Americans would be a lot more willing to sacrigice if the sacrifice were defined and it would achieve positive results. Americans are not willing to make a vague and perpetual sacrifice out of emotion.

We do that. There is a mask mandate to enter any business at least here in South Florida.

Its going to keep rising when everything is re opened whether its now or a year from now. Or we can do a month long TOTAL shutdown and home lockdown like we should have done back in April.
We're re opening things slowly and the trend is still down but we've had probably a hundred thousand or more infected already.

Vast difference between sitting inside full of people and takeout and delivery.

Grocery stores can't shut down because everyone needs to buy groceries, but no one NEEDS to eat restaurant food.

Restaurants again shutting their doors as coronavirus flares

On Tuesday, Texas reported an 8.3% increase in hospitalizations to a record 2,518, the largest daily jump since June 4. The rolling seven-day average rose to a record 2,243, according to the state health department.

Florida is one of of 22 states where daily coronavirus cases are rising. The state's hospitalization count has nearly doubled since May 4, when its governor relaxed a month-long stay-at-home order by letting restaurants and stores outside of South Florida open at 25% capacity. The Sunshine State reported 80,109 cases on Tuesday, an increase of 3.6% from Monday.

After biggest one-day coronavirus total, how bad could it get in Florida?

https://www.sun-sentinel.com/coronav...3lq-story.html

The record number came not as a spike on an otherwise flat trend line but followed two weeks of rising numbers. It comes as a growing percentage of people taking the test come up positive for the disease. And it’s accompanied by a rise in emergency room visits for flu-like symptoms since early May, a closely watched statistic thought to represent the leading edge of the disease.
Spiking includes Oklahoma. I assume Oklahoma isn't included since it's only considered a minor state to worry about.

Like you said people are really stupid. It really seems some of you just don't get it. The economies will be forced to shut down either way. And you really just don't get it

You think the Texas hospital system is remotely close to being overwhelmed with 2500 hospitalized for covid statewide and available beds numbering over 16,000?

You think shutting down a dozen restaurants and bars while thousands of others remain open is as damaging as shutting down all of the thousands?

If you think Texas and Florida are effectively shut down anyway then we have spotted the stupid one.

You are forgetting about the most important thing, customers who stay in thecrestaurant and eat. Without a mask of course. This is a respiratory virus. The simple act of talking while sharing a meal spews virus into the air, which is then inhaled by other patrons. A study in China found the virus was able to get I to the air conditioning ducts to spread even further.

When it was just take out, people needed to wear masks, there were only a few people let in at a time, and they did not linger in the restaurant. Less time, less viral spread, less vectors(people) that can spread the virus, hence not needing to shut down.

Deal with it. Just like with the every other health factor in life. There is not going to be another shutdown, no matter how much you wish for it.

In red states, people in their 20s haven't been taking the virus seriously.
