Rayshard Brooks was no angel. He was on probation for 4 crimes including cruelty to children and faced going back to prison if charged with a DUI. He blew a 0.108 and resisted when police tried to cuff him. This is the man who was drunk and passed out in the Wendy's drive thru.
Interesting what you find when you dig deeper
Rayshard's past charges were: False Imprisonment
Single Battery
Family Battery
Felony Cruelty
Cruelty to Children
The cop shot him in the back while he was fleeing. It is still murder regardless of his alleged record.
the guy (mr brooks) was only released from jail due to Covid...otherwise he would still be in prison
the police TRIED to talk this guy in for nearly an hour, then brooks turned violent
brooks attacked the police, resisted arrest, stole a taser (which on the highest settings can kill you if you have a week heart) and used it on one of the officers.
the officers shot at the perp, perp (who should never have been released from prison) is dead...
Nope - As the DA has made clear that is not how it is supposed to work.
They should simply have run him down and taken him into custody. The shooting of an unarmed man is not acceptable. And if they needed more backup they should have gotten it.
run him down how...with a car??(that would go over soooo well,)...by putting a knee on him to restrain him??(that has worked wonders recently).. by tackling him into the pavement breaking his face and neck?? (yep that's the winner)
Two faced DA says Brooks was no threat with the taser but two weeks prior.....
This is despite the fact that earlier this month, Howard charged several police officers in an excessive force case, where two college students were allegedly subject to police brutality during the protests sparked off by the death of George Floyd. Howard said that one of the officers was charged with “aggravated assault,” for pointing a taser at one of the students, because “under Georgia law, a taser is considered a deadly weapon.”
Can't make up his mind. Too much BS going on here to appease the community...
We knew it was a matter of time before we started talking about criminal records.
Well it is incredibly material to this case as it tells us why the violent felon acted like a violent felon again. He didn't want to go back to prison.
What about it?
He was already out of the car, posing no danger to anyone and being not aggressive at all.
Send the drunk home, you already have his license plate, so you can charge him through the nose later.
But it sounds like a lot of you here WANT THE BLOOD TO BE DROWN.
Erm..
The way this country operates - hard to tell the difference.
I only know what I saw, the way the whole "Justice system" in America is set.
That is when you are poor, you are a step away from prison.
And Blacks are mostly poor.
However, let good Lord sort it all out for you, I think I've said all I wanted, so I am done here.
P.S. I am a woman and I don't have a daughter, I have a son.
It was his girl-friend who got violent actually once, but police was about to jump to her defense automatically - they were not particularly interested who was right and who was wrong.
I don't think this is true. Most are middle class.
