Today being a Sunday, the numbers reported should be considered an absolute minimum which may be adjusted once clerical staff in hospitals, coroners offices and the CDC itself report back to work in the morning.

In fact, the graph on the 'worldometer' site initially linked by the OP clearly shows a drop in cases every weekend and a spike on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Quite true. And it also shows THIS Sunday as the lowest since March. And it shows the weekly death toll and the 7 day moving average as dropping steadily. Seems like good news upsets liberals.

Every day save one for the past 2 months has had a lower death total than the corresponding day the week prior. Sunday to Sunday, Tuesday to Tuesday etc.

Also, on average 7,500 people die every day in this country.

Just to put it in perspective.

As of now, the trend is our friend, but be cautious about a second surge in October or November!

Yep. It's pretty clear to anyone that actually looks at the data that the China bug is dying out on it's own. Seems to upset the MSM and the Democratic party.

The media is obsessed with case count when that's so misleading because of how rare testing was for so long.

The death numbers have been nothing but good news for weeks on end now. Yes, relatively speaking because 0 is the goal.

We'll see if these new cases count, which the media is obsessed with, translates into more deaths. So far it hasn't and the daily death count continues to drop.

That is excellent news, and no
  1. I am not a liberal, I might be more conservative than you, and no
  2. I am not upset.

I'm not sure why you would think that. You didn't provide a source so I looked for one, I found the CDC number and posted it, that doesn't make me feel better sheesh...but what makes me feel even worse is when people make wearing a mask political and refuse to wear one because the President doesn't.

Not in my town. Cases have spiked from 22 to 209 in 2 weeks. The mayor fears he may have to go back to closing things down and maybe even require masks, if too many people end up in the hospital over the virus.

The biggest thing to worry about is if the number of hospitalizations and deaths end up spiking, along with number of positive cases.

The death rate is the real concern here. The case count is only an indication of community spread, which is very important to monitor. We still need testing in order to do contact tracing, and since the administration is resisting testing there is no way to compile information on hot spots and tailor our response to the county level. It is frustrating everyone.

Still, it looks like the mitigation efforts have been working, and the hospitals are able to keep up with the cases in most areas, that means nearly everyone is getting a ventilator and a bed when they need one. Much better than dying on a gurney in a hallway ...

We can't bring the dead back to life, those who got sick earlier were victims of neglect and abandonment, but the governors have really stepped up in the leadership vacuum and we are seeing results.

That's ghoulish.

How can you be so blatantly and intentionally obtuse and expect anyone to take you seriously?!
