In other (non-fake) news Texas just reported record number of Covid hospitalizations exceeding the July numbers. Correspondingly multiple locations are running very short on ICU beds.
My girlfriend thinks masks are a fashion accessory. She wants me to take pictures of all her new masks with her matching outfits so she can show them off on social media. How can I discourage this?
I’m all for wearing masks inside public spaces, but come on folks, you don’t need to wear masks outside in non-crowded venues. I was just mask-shamed twice today for not wearing a mask on a hiking trail that wasn’t even a trail — it was a gravel road — and we only saw about eight other people on the trail/road the entire morning. Sorry but you’re not going to catch Covid by simply walking by someone on a road outside. You need significant exposure and that is not it. Anyway ...
That depends doesn't it. The virus survives longer in cold dry climates, and it has mutated with faster transmission in several countries including South Africa, Nigeria, UK, France, Canada, Japan. Italy is probably just late to the table. USA is probably hiding facts, same with China.
In freezing temperatures, virus transmission is higher than in warm humid temperatures.
Come on folks - get your poop together and understand that although it's painful, the fast we suck it up the sooner it is gone.
