Yes. I do think Joe Biden is cognitively impaired.

At this stage of an election year, the challenger to an incumbent president would be much more visible and vocal, Covid notwithstanding. It's as if Democrats are overly confident that Biden is a shoe in.

Or, they're scared he'll say something on live national TV which will reveal how impaired he has become.

I do not say this to mock the man - for anybody to undergo this kind of mental decline in one's later years is painful and sad. I wish him health: physical, emotional, mental, relational. However, the series of gaffes he's made demonstrate his unfitness for office.

As recently as 2012, 2011, 2010, he still spoke clearly, crisply, and forcefully. Videos of him as a much younger politician reveal a dynamic and energetic speaker. That Joe Biden is gone, and again, he's only running because the DNC screwed over Bernie Sanders (again).

I think Biden has started to slip a bit. That being said, Trump's decline is apparent and well beyond the beginning stages. In a perfect world, we wouldn't be comparing the two, but since it's 2020 I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Combine Trump's cognitive issues with his morally vacuous nature and his assault on the norms of government, and this is an easy choice to make.

Not sure how I ended up on this part of the forum, now to find my way back to housing issues...

I’ve watched him take question and he seems ok but then his response to this was off

Biden has been known as a gaffe machine since he first joined the Senate. I shake my head at some of the things he says, but I haven't seen proof that he has declined in recent years.

Now, no one over age 70 is going to be quite as quick or sharp as they were when younger, so that applies to both candidates. The argument for older candidates is usually that their experience and wisdom makes up for loss of mental agility. I haven't seen any sign of wisdom out of Trump.

Admit it, you voted for the "loser" who is a billionaire, married to a one-time supermodel, and who in his first run defeated several seasoned politicians AND who denied Hillary Clinton her last-ever shot at the White House.

Not cognitively impaired. The main thing to note is that he does not have the eloquence of many former Presidents. He has not lost the gift, he was never born to speak at the level of an Obama or a Reagan or a Kennedy.

The other main thing to note is that even though he's not the most gifted speaker we've ever had as a Presidential candidate, he is exponentially better than his opponent, whose speech is pretty much limited to populist blather.
