So they were not even EOs. Just pixie dust. The one for forbearance of mortgages was nothing more than a "recommendation" that his staff look into the matter.

Well for the people who are suffering I hope something works. I feel for them. I do know however, lawyers are making some much Over-Time with mrT at the helm, they will be able to buy Cuba before he leaves.

'An administrative nightmare': Trump's executive action is a scramble for unemployment aid

But there’s a catch: It’s unclear whether Trump has the authority to extend enhanced unemployment benefits by executive action while side-stepping Congress. It lowers the weekly bonus to $400 from the extra $600 that expired in late July, with states being asked to cover 25% of the costs. That means the federal government will provide $300 a week. And it could take months for states to implement.

Oh its politically brilliant because the vast majority of American's aren't exactly watching the news 24/7 and only get tidbits from the media etc they aren't politically smart. You give American's too much credit personally IMO.

More likely Mitch and a cadre of "El Cheapo governors".

Just cut welfare/public assistance. That isn't an earned benefit as is SS and Medicare.

As Governors are finding out the details --- they are making it clear that this EO is not all it seems to be.

It may take a few days but the shortcomings of this EO will come to light and people will hear about it.

The concept isn't a bad one.

But once again -- Trump is too simple minded and impatient to devise an EO that can't be challenged and that actually is a good compromise and provides a band aid while Congress hashes out the details.

Trump says one thing and the EO says something else.

Why does he do that to himself?

I'll send those welfare/public assistance folks to your house for your generous, charitable help.

YEah it didn't sound like Pelosi was going to take the challenge but it is early days.

It wasn't a bad idea to try and do something but once again this administration fails in execution.

since this is "extending" spending previously approved (and initiated) in the house, are you sure that "he has no authority"
