IMO Trump is committing treason by doing this. ...
He is a traitor by nature.
He betrays his oath of office on many levels, holding the Post Office hostage to cripple our election is just one more abomination in a string of them.
While he does this, there is a lot of collateral damage: many people get their medical prescriptions by mail and some receive their Social Security checks that way. Some of the unemployed rely on the post office for critically important documents and many creditors still send invoices and statements out by mail.
Every time someone gets hurt by this, whether a late prescription or a late payment or a late ballot, they are going to know it comes from Trump. That is not going to go down well.
"The United States Postal Service is reportedly retiring mail sorting machines. According to Postmaster general Louis DeJoy, the agency is in a “dire” financial situation, citing significant falls in mail volume, “a broken business model” and an inadequate management strategy as reasons for the “impending liquidity crisis.” Dejoy has been implementing changes since assuming the role in June, including organizational restructuring and a management hiring freeze, saying they’re meant to “strengthen the Postal Service.”
It looks like they are restructuring because of their financial situation, which doesn't surprise me, think "email". It actually sounds like this DeJoy may have a clue how to run a business!
If the allegations have a factual basis, this should be easy to verify, since postal sorting machines take up a good deal of space, and storing a large number of them while removed from service would pose similar problems.
So with that in mind, I'll defer judgement until a confirmed non-partisan source comes forward.
And having dealt with the Postal Workers union at a plant where I worked, and they sought to unionize, some years ago, I cannot consider them an impartial source.
The USPS does not have 1,000 sorting centers. Where did you get that number from ?
that was just for an easy number
the USPS has 38,000 facilities...30,000 are post offices, while the remaining 8000 are "other" facilities ..,processing centers there were 673 back in 2006...today less than 487
why….
The USPS Announcements, 15September 2011, “Radical Network Realignment and Mail Processing Facility Study,Media Kit shows that First-Class Mail is projected to drop from 2006 - 98billion pieces to - 39 billion in 2020 (39.7%) and Standard Mail drops from2006 - 103 billion pieces to - 86 billion in 2020 (16.6%) (28.1% total drop involume from 2006-2020).
This is part of a larger problem from what Ive seen...in order to progress, we have to get rid of obsolete things/services.
Back in the days when the first car was created, no one was fighting to keep horse and buggy companies around, just for the sake of having those services/jobs, they realized progress makes some sectors unnecessary at a point in time.

Well. The TrumpyBunch will get their mail late, lose their jobs as postal workers and proudly wear their MAGA hats in the unemployment line.

Are you really comparing the post office to the horse and buggy?
Except that even Trump has admitted to the scheme.
No, he hasn't. At least, no one's provided any evidence.
