They gave the cops free reign to do what had to be done, and POOF!... like magic, crime started going down and kept going down.

Fas forward to today, and you've got a soft on crime Marxist in control.

And NYC is going right back to where it was 25 years ago, pre-Rudy.

Don't we EVER learn ???
I hated those squeegee guys. They hung out at the Lincoln Tunnel exit, and you couldn't enter Manhattan without having to deal with them. Even if you just got your car washed, no matter how many times you said "no", they would still muddy up your windshield with their dirty rags. I never paid them a dime, and they would always start yelling stuff. Occasionally, it was scary. These were not stable people. On paper, it seems like small potatoes, but I was so happy when Rudy got rid of them.

Go to the LI forum - uggs has posted very good explanation about property taxes. The property taxes may be more on LI - but you don't have the NYC residency tax so when you compare the two it's actually a wash or you may save a little in taxes living in LI.

No point in living in NYC, SF, LA anymore with COVID. You get the luxury of paying insane rents and housing prices for no big city benefits. Without an effective vaccine, these cities which were already facing an exodus pre covid, will see a stampede out. With crime on the rise and police under attack, people with means to get out will, tax base will dry up and cities will be left with their voting base, which pays no tax, cities will go broke.

Democrats are not disturbed by what happened !!! They won't talk about it !!! Why ?

Its what they want to bring into the suburbs and every community across the country !!!

Its in the democrats platform but its not to be discussed until they can shoehorn in China Joe !!!

The demise of NYC is not COVIDs fault.. COVID just sped up the rock bottom. I have witnessed NYC slowly turn into the sad state it is in today. Years ago, my family would jump on Metro North on the weekends to spend weekend days in NYC. Today, NYC is the last place I would take my children.

Haha, the Democrats say everything is fine and there is no violence just peaceful protesting and if there is any violence or related killings, it’s all because of Trump!

Meanwhile Pelosi is looking for bail out money for the Cities, not the small businesses or individuals on the verge of bankruptcy but rather for those democratic leaders so that they have more money to squander❗️

Jeez, that is worse than what I've seen. He's driving block after block with this stuff. I thought it was just a few stores, didn't know it that much destruction.

"Mostly peaceful protesters" is how I hear things sometimes described.

The media is so disingenuous these days, bunch of lying sacks of crap.

Hmmm, I didn't realize plywood and boarding up your business helped stop the Wuhan virus from getting in and infecting people.
