I will believe Romney when I see HOW he actually votes. Having a vote and saying how you will vote are two different things.
This ^ past performance indicates that he will vote NO. Probably came out with this statement as he (or whomever holds his secrets over him) figured it may be more demoralizing to have a possibly unsuccessful vote than try to block one.
The Florida Keys could be a state too. Someone tried to do that once
If the Dems were to take back power and tried to make Puerto Rico and DC a state (DC as a state would depend greatly on how you divided DC as the existence of a federal district is required by the Constitution where Congress exercises control over DC . . . thus, a state, which exist as equals in a sense with the federal government, cannot also be a federal district), Republican would simply retaliate by breaking Texas up into four additional states as the Texas Statehood Act allows when the GOP next took power. Note, this would require the approval of both Congress and the Texas Legislature, but I doubt that it would be difficult to achieve. Of course, much of DC and Puerto Rico as states--and packing the Supreme Court--are complete fantasies as the Dems will likely lack a sufficient majority in practice to accomplish those plans as several of their more moderate members wouldn't go along with those plans.
Yes....the local papers and national media. All riots, burning and looting are in democrat controlled cities that have refused federal assistance
So Republicans don't live in Democrat controlled cities. Got it. You have no idea who is doing the rioting and looting. It just sounds good to throw **** out there and see what sticks. Just like Trump does.

Oh, we have a pretty darn good idea of who is rioting and looting and burning things down based on the chants and statements they make by doing so.
Quoted from the above: (2) On February 22, 2019, a Trump Administration United States Department of Justice official wrote in a New York Times op-ed that “white supremacy and far-right extremism are among the greatest domestic-security threats facing the United States. Regrettably, over the past 25 years, law enforcement, at both the Federal and State levels, has been slow to respond. … Killings committed by individuals and groups associated with far-right extremist groups have risen significantly.”.

Nice try to deflect. Right wing extremists aren’t in Portland tearing up the place demanding that the police be defunded. Right wing extremists didn’t do major destruction to several leftist cities calling for far left loon ideas. As asinine as that DOJ report was—particularly given that thousands of people are killed by black on black crime each year in this country which is primarily drug and gang related—something tells me that even they would have a different time after the leftist chaos we’ve seen since George Floyd.
