I have more faith in my PCP than these "experts".

It seems to me that the news media and many politicians want this disease to be the worst it can be. And they constantly try to promote it. Even daily headline after daily headline in the local paper. While news and reports about possible cures are met with sceptic remarks and down played.

How sick to think that the worse a disease is, helps them. They love to give the name Super-Spreader to certain people. And the term Super-Spreader Event, to events they have disdain for. While over looking other events and gatherings. Now they have a new term, Dark Winter. It makes me wonder what the disease really is.

The only irony I see, is that they have been preaching CO2 is evil, which is what we exhale. And now they want everyone to wear a mask all the time. Have they gotten what they asked for ?

When you understand place value you understand that 1% or even 0.4% is not as small of a number when you infect 200,000,000 (that is two-hundred million) in the US or 4,000,000,000 (that is 4 billion).

1% of 200,0000,000

is equal to 2,000,000 (2 million)

1% of 4,000,000,000

is equal to 40,000,000 (40 million)

That would equal about 110,000 deaths just in the states of Kentucky and Tennessee alone which would be more flu deaths than the entire nation sees in even a very bad flu year.

Even 0.5% would give the US around 1 million dead and the world 20 million dead and about 60,000 deaths in Kentucky and Tennessee combined.

when he posted that, it was morning of Oct 20 (Oct 19 stats at latest). Depending on whether he looked up,

Oct 17th - the bottom at 704 deaths/day
Oct 18th - 725
Oct 19 - 742

Our 10/23 of 805 is still 10% below September 15th. And we haven't had a 7-day of 1000+ since Aug 22 (60 days), despite numerous people still claiming "more than 1,000 a day"

and the deaths continue to be vastly among the oldest and most infirmed. They also continue to be the most hospitalized. We should (Governors should) be doing more to take care of them until a vaccine is ready.

Seems we turned a corner on Friday....as Trump predicted.

Problem -- we took the wrong turn......Johns Hopkins University reported 83,757 new cases and 943 new deaths. This is now the highest number of new cases reported in a single day since the pandemic began.
