I'm going to be of no help Myghost.

Believing in conspiracies, denying facts, and constantly changing the goalposts on what you will accept as proof really does go to the core of a person. I really don't think there is anyway you can accept this about a person unless the relationship is superficial. Then you just totally bury your feelings/judgment of the person and go about your day talking about your favorite sports teams or the latest recipe you made. It's a lot harder to do if it's, say, your mother.

I am fortunate that I don't have someone close to me that is that baked in on the lies. I have several Trump supporters in my family but they haven't gone so far as to spout the conspiracy theories of election fraud. They seem to believe Biden won fair and square and I'm thankful for that. I don't *need* to have a lot of people in my life and the ones I do have matter, so if one of them actually went fully birther on me; honestly, I'd have to cut them out of my life, relative or not. Thankfully I haven't been tested on this.

Yep, it's tough. It is someone too close to just cut out...

And I also have many Republican friends (more than Democratics friends) and a lot of Trump supporter friends, I don't automatically dismiss people for their political views.

I would just avoid talking about it. If this is someone you care about, you may want to take a hard look at whether or not they may harm themselves or others as reality catches up to their delusions.

Not exactly. I have more right friends than left, and I can defend most of Trump's positions at some level. I don't like him, but I take interest to understand why people support him.

But in the case of this election, I think it's safe to say that you have to work hard to avoid the truth if you want to believe it possible that the Dems stole this one.

The same way I would react if a magician told me he would soon pull a 6 ft rabbit out of a hat
Wait and see
Mr triumph as done amazing things I can wait a few weeks more before I decide for the fat lady to sing
And yes our adversaries cheat and yes sometimes we do not win
The real losers right now think they are winners
This will quickly change
The olive branch and unity speech is not for you but for foreign countries

I believe all of them have, and continue to harm the USA. They are undermining the foundations of our country. I do believe that most of them (this person for sure) believes they are right. That is what is so hard. How do you help them see the light without being insulting or condescending?

I voted for Trump twice, but I have a buddy who is somewhere to the right of the Proud Boys. He SWEARS that the election will be reversed, so I bet him a hundred bucks. We are to settle up on inauguration day. It's a win-win. If Biden sticks around I get $ 100 to ease the pain, but I'd gladly lose $ 100 to have Trump back.

The same way we had to deal with people who believed that Trump colluded with the Russians to steal the election in 2016.

I ask for a specific example and then google it. Then I ask them to refute it.
People are willing to believe a conspiracy that goes along with their thinking.
I don't say they are lying, I just ask for proof.
