what a silly comment. An American dependent on the Government is exactly the opposite of what Conservatives dreamed of. That is a far left dream. And I am not a Conservative. Most Conservatives I know want the country to open back up completely depending on social distancing and masks to reduce the pandemic getting people back to work and not needing the Government to stay afloat.
back in 2005..........my wife worked at a nursing home; the owner was a millionaire..........his christmas gift to all his emplyees was a $1 lottery scratch ticket. I still hate that guy. This new "stimulus" is akin to that........
I worked in a facility, like an assisted living, & for Nurse's Day, we all got a 1 ounce container of Hand Sanitizer! CEO one of the cheapest people on the planet. I guess the "gift" makes them feel better, though (Rolls eyes).
We are heading to the worst economic disaster in this Nation
People can't eat
Food banks are running out of food
Food banks are operating in certain areas on a 3 months you go basis
People live check to check credit card to credit card
Work multiple jobs
Now some of those people have no jobs debt bills and limited funds
Before the pandemic the middle class was eroding
Inflation was on the rise
Jobs migrating to Cities
Demand and Cost of Living risen
If we can't get UBI and public health implemented by June next year can't see anyway back
Stay calm.
People are eating, we are not running out of food. In many areas food banks have increased as the economy boomed. Food stamp allotments have increased as well as those receiving them.
People have always lived pay check to pay check, been unemployed, had unpaid bills and limited funds. The middle class has been eroding for some time now, inflation has been on the rise as has cost of living and jobs have always been in the cities.
I'm not sure conservatives realize how little $600 is. It is like feeding a single slice of cucumber to a person that's been starving for months and calling it "relief".
I’m a conservative and I think $600 is spitting on a forest fire. When I think about the tens of thousands we pay in taxes every year, to be graciously allowed $600 of OUR money that WE worked for, makes me ill.

Now that the election is over, Pelosi accepts a Covid Relief Bill which is 1/2 the amount she was offered and refused months ago. She says it's okay though, because she was using holding out financial relief to Americans as a political tool to sway the election.
@Junebug1967...
Pelosi is evil. People’s lives are affected and all she can do is play politics and try to hurt her political enemies. Evil, just pure evil.
There will still be long lines at food banks, $600 is a friggin' joke. That pittance won't help anyone for long.
