The teaching of government and civics did not take a high priority when the Viet Nam war protests were happening. People who do not know their rights don't protest.

I claimed that the common worker of
the USA does not get more than one paid week's vacation a year and I claim that my neighbors work two jobs to make ends meet and they tell me that they get ONE weeks paid vacation.

I’ve traveled the world and only in the US do I see so much hate between political parties and even between individual states and people of different ethnicities. Why so? Why do us Americans put so much energy into foaming at the mouth hate?
I believe it may partially be due to US citizen’s mass infatuation with social media and news networks that are more opinion pieces looking for high ratings (aka money) than getting out facts and actual news. This all divides us even more.
Let’s try to have a civil conversation here. No need to rant about the left or right. No need for name calling.

The hate comes from the leftist that hate the US and everything it stands for. That is the real issue. They are winning to be honest, but all great countries fall eventually. We sure had a great run, but this new leftist bunch will bring us down to our knees. They are true poison. A lot of them are leaving CA and destroying CO, AZ and soon TX. Shame!

Our country was built on hate, and we’ve never had a true reckoning on the genocide and slavery that took place here. In the modern day, broadcast media and social media ramp up division and hatred of others who don’t believe the same things we do. Now with the propensity (because of that same media) to blur the line between belief and fact with so many of our people, I wonder if things will ever be normal/decent again.

Yes, you are right and also wrong. The people leaving CA that I know, are the ones who see that the once beautiful place has taken a very wrong turn, now being run by the CCP and want nothing to do with that! Leaving and taken their money with them is the best way to put a log in CA's eye. I'm sure some learving are jerks but the majority are aware that they can't do anything to correct the problem so leaving is the only option.
CA schools have been teaching hate for Americans for many decades and it has now spread across the U.S. but since they can't be racists, it is called a non-white bias in college admissions and hiring. America needs to follow President Trump's policy of keeping hate out of the schools by teaching respect for family, city, county, state, and country. Today we see the result of teaching hate in our streets as our cities, burn, explode,and decay while drugs are taking our young. It is time the teachers, their union, and school boards to be held accountable to the tax payers who pay them.
Yet apparently we aren’t vile enough to (pre-COVID) have discouraged some snowbirds .
What does that have to do with recognizing the USA is responsible for a horrible genocide? Or is the question one that is too "uncomfortable".
