Two Republicans being considered to replace her as House GOP chair are Reps. Lee Zeldin (R-NY) and Elise Stefanik (R-NY)].

Elise Stafanik would be a very fine replacement for Liz Cheney.

The fact is that the vast majority of Republican voters support the Trump agenda, regardless of whether Trump is leading it or not. At the same time, many of the Republican leadership types in Washington just want to promote and advance themselves within the Washington establishment elite, which the Trump agenda is contrary towards.

So it looks like either the Republican leaders need to rustle up a new base of support for the advancement of their selfish establishment elite aspirations, or the Republican base needs to find a way to get some new leaders in Washington who are committed to representing and supporting the aspirations of their constituents.

The ouster of Liz Cheney from the Republican House leadership team would be a big move in support of the latter of these two options.
Repped you too soon. I think a good number of Republican politicians have forgotten this, or have hoped that Trump's last couple months were enough to make the establishment palatable again. They're not.

LOL,how would that work?Democrats wouldn't vote for her, shes anti Trump personally but policy wise is more conservative. One vote they like in her entire career isn't getting her any votes from democrats.

Trump got about 70% of the vote in Wyoming, she'll be lucky if she can win the primary for her house seat in Wyoming in 2022 much less a Republican Presidential Primary in 2024.

Its kind of like when republicans say nice things about Tulsi Gabbard....some 'like her'....I like her.....but would never vote for her because pretty much any republican is going to be closer to me policy wise.

It appears that Republican Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy may be starting to walk back his support for Liz Cheney to remain on the Republican House leadership team.

Quote:
House GOP leader says he has 'concerns' over Cheney's impeachment vote

“Look, I support her, but I also have concerns. She took a position as a No. 3 member in conference. She never told me ahead of time. One thing about leadership, if we're going to work together, we should understand. We know that this is going to become a difficulty,” he said.

“She can have a difference of opinion, but the one thing, if we're going to lead within the conference, we should work together on that as a whole conference because we're representative of that conference. So I support her, but I do think she has a lot of questions she has to answer to the conference.”

Cheney’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Hill.
With a solid majority of Republicans in the House supporting the ouster of Liz Cheney from the Republican House caucus leadership team, it appears the writing is on the wall. A petition has already been submitted asking her to resign and to have a formal vote in the caucus asking her to resign. She cannot stay on in that position when the majority of House Republicans endorse her removal. Surely.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) will hold a rally in Wyoming Thursday to rally the locals in a call to oust Liz Cheney (R-WY) from the Republican House leadership team.

Quote:
Gaetz to hold rally in Wyoming to call for ousting Cheney from GOP leadership

Mr. Gaetz will hold a rally Thursday in Ms. Cheney‘s backyard as he campaigns for his colleagues to remove her as chairwoman of the House Republican Conference, the party’s third-highest position in the chamber. Donald Trump Jr. expressed regret that he can’t attend the event, but asked if he could “Skype or call in.”

In a tweet promoting the event in Cheyenne, Mr. Gaetz said, “I do not want her job. I unequivocally am not seeking a position in House Leadership. I also know Wyoming can do better.”
This is a well known House Republican organizing a rally against a member of the Republican House leadership team in that leader's home state. This is a very aggressive move. When have we ever seen something like this?

It appears from the article that there are quite a few conservative leaders in Wyoming and elsewhere that are lining up in support around this. Perhaps Liz should just resign her leadership position in the House and then announce that she will not run again in 2022. She will have a nice TV gig on CNN or somewhere.

The same Matt Gaetz who illegally lived with a 12 year old Cuban boy? I'm sure he can teach those people in Wyoming some "family values" and "law and order". Oh yeah the same Matt who was also arrested for drunk driving, he is calling the shots now for the republican party.

Liz Cheney is a "Representative". She is supposed to "Represent".

As the elected House Representative of Wyoming, she is supposed to represent the values and priorities of her constituents. As a member of the Republican House leadership team she is supposed to "Represent" the values and priorities of the Republican caucus. She is doing pretty much the opposite of that here.

She has failed in her duties and is effectively in the process of being fired "for cause".

All republicans are gaga for 45. Whoever goes against him will be primaried out. Now that might mean they could lose against a democrat if the winner is far right but if the area is red like Wyoming, they will have no problems winning the election.
