The political career of Liz Cheney appears to be hanging by a thread, with a long line of people among the Republican right wanting to be the one to cut that thread.
According to a memo outlining the results, 73 percent of Republican voters and 62 percent of all voters in Wyoming expressed an unfavorable view of the three-term congresswoman. Just 10 percent of Republican primary voters and 13 percent of general election voters said they would vote to reelect her. The survey of 500 likely voters, which was conducted Jan. 25-26 by Trump pollster John McLaughlin, also presents Cheney as profoundly weak in a Republican primary. The congress member trails 54 percent to 21 percent in a head-to-head matchup against one of her announced opponents, state Sen. Anthony Bouchard.
“Liz Cheney’s decision to vote to impeach President Trump makes her extremely vulnerable,” McLaughlin writes to Jason Miller, the former president’s senior adviser, in a memo outlining the results. “It is evident her ratings are in bad shape among general election voters and have collapsed among Republicans and Trump voters.”
In a head to head primary contest against Wyoming State Senator Anthony Buchard, Cheney is down in this poll by 34 points. Yes, you read that correctly.
The establishment Republican neocon inside the beltway crowd, including the "never-Trumpers," had been hoping by standing aside on January 6 and not only letting the Democrat left mob and the media dishonestly impune President Trump, but actually providing some support for that effort here and there, President Trump would be destroyed and his supporters would turn to them and the pre-2016 Republican party of old.
This should be putting an end to that misguided fantasy once and for all. Any of them that want to push that agenda any farther can probably expect a response from the base that is similar to the response that Liz Cheney is currently receiving. And unless they have a political death wish, they will not be seen doing that, even a little.
The pre-2016 Republican party has been officially dead for some time now, but these people have continued to be denial about that up until this very day. After watching the response to Cheney here, surely know they have to know that this dream is dead as a doornail.
The Trump agenda will dominate the Republican party going forward, even after the end of President Trump in the White House.
Liz Cheney is a "Representative". She is supposed to "Represent".
As the elected House Representative of Wyoming, she is supposed to represent the values and priorities of her constituents. As a member of the Republican House leadership team she is supposed to "Represent" the values and priorities of the Republican caucus. She is doing pretty much the opposite of that here.
She has failed in her duties and is effectively in the process of being fired "for cause".
The removal process is for grave misconduct, probably mostly for criminal behavior, not mere partisan squabbles. Ousting somebody for not adhering to a party thing should and has always been the ballot box. This is seizing on the cancel culture and shouldn’t be so easily permitted as it has been on the left.
It appears the former Republican party has chosen their 2024 Presidential candidate. A mentally-ill man twice impeached who led a mob to sack the Capitol. Conflagellations. I'll have to decline to award him my vote, once again.

She is not being ousted from her seat as a Representative. The Republican caucus is trying to oust her from her position as a leader of the Republicans in the House. It is House Republicans that vote for their own leaders, so they are in effect following your counsel.
As far as her position as the elected Representative for the state of Wyoming, she will continue to hold that position until the elections in 2022. At which point, if these polls are any indication, she will be transitioning to a new career outside of politics, probably as a cable news talking head.

She should be punished for telling the truth, what exactly does the republican party stand for anymore. Pretty much the same amount of house members signing on to this who objected to the election, they sure have some problems down the road if voters have a memory. Good luck if you think McCarthy will remove her from leadership road, he needs to focus on Boebert and Greene not the normal politicians.
For those who don't already know this, Liz Cheney is the daughter of Dick Cheney, the evil genius (imo) behind Bush II.
It is therefore no surprise to me that Liz seems to have a vendetta against Trump for going against the Republican establishment by running for POTUS and his promises of "draining the swamp". I am no Trump supporter,, but I hope Liz's political career will soon be over.
More than half of all Republicans in the House have signed a petition to remove House Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney from her leadership position as a result of her vote to impeach President Trump last week.
This should be enough to effectively end her political career. She also has big problems back home in Wyoming. She already has a significant primary opponent who has announced.
To be fair, I am not a Republican and the Republican party is not worth rooting for or supporting, even with this move. But I am happy to see it. She needs to be ousted.
Don't let the door hit you on the way out, Liz. Bye bye.
Love that cancel culture, amirite?
