Instead of being angry, everyone should celebrate it as American history. Celebrate it as the song for those who the National Anthem did not represent at the time. If fact, less than 50 yrs prior, the courts reintegrated that Black people were inferior and could never be citizens. And you wonder why this song was penned? The song has an amazing message of perseverance. And if, as people often retort in racial discussion, every group has faced struggles, then everyone should be able to relate to it.
If someone were to have been abducted by aliens 50 years ago and come back to the US, by watching the superbowl alone you would think "man, white people must be lynching black people all over the place, cops must be routinely gunning down innocent unarmed black men all over the place to trigger this amount of Social Justice content. Things must be really bad!.".

The entire undercurrent of the narrative of these times implies that there is a massive racist oppression going on.

Meanwhile, that person would travel the country, see black people everywhere in every business, in every line of work including policing, on college campuses everywher, and say "what the hell are you talking about? Oh, you mean black people aren't doing as well economically as the rest of the country on average? That's what all this is about?"

It's completely out or proportion. This is a dishonest narrative pushed simply as a power move to silence any discourse that goes the other direction.

Its racist white America that is moving backward. They are even upset that black people want to respond to systemic racism by solemnly kneeling and singing a song once a year about hope. And then they complain that they use violence. There will never be any use in working for the unity carrot on a stick.
Except systemic racism doesn't exist. It's a lie created by the Left to keep black people on the plantation.

What next the LGBTQ+ Anthem.
That would be YMCA, played incessantly by TRUMP in his super spreader rallies. The ultra right is so clueless.

There was no national anthem at the time. "The Star-Spangled Banner" didn't become the official National Anthem until 1931, after a successful lobbying effort by the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Trump can play what he wants at his rallies, however sports events are not political and are designed as a recreational outlet rather than an election rally.

Nice try. Since you acknowledge that there is a "plantation" then you are acknowledging that there is systemic racism.

I noticed a ton of black representation at the superbowl yesterday which is nice. All of the performers were black, seemed like they did a lot for George Floyd and black people killed by police. heck the majority of the players are black so I assume they have a huge amount of black fans. The interesting part is that the owners and most of the people at the top are white.

If I was a police officer or police supporter I'd be even more disappointed with the NFL after yesterday. I support black people and police but I really didn't need to see so many reminders of racism and a handful people killed by police officers during a superbowl...it was supposed to be a fun night of tv after what has been a particularly bleak year. How can anyone move on when we're constantly reminded of these things?

I also see the NFL is giving 250 million to end systemic racism. How do they plan to do that?

Bingo. And the lie has taken on a life of its own. It’s like that old fable about the Emperor’s New Clothes!

And if aliens came down and watched the SuperBowl, they’d think this was a majority Black Country. Sure, blacks gave a spot to a token white (that idiot country boy who made a mockery of the Anthem), but to offset that, they had a black singer do it as well (she also butchered it), and also the Black National Anthem kicked it all off, and then the black poet read her poem, as well. To top it all off, there was one featured singer at half-time, some black guy I never heard of.

This is all an overreaction to something does not exist - widespread or systemic racism.

Agreed, the left is hell-bent on creating a class of people reliant on government.
