Disrespected.

I’m tired of everyone picking a fight. Especially folks not in the thick of it.

All I want is for the damn ice to melt off the roads so I don’t have to worry about whether or not I can get some food.
THIS.

I'm appalled at how quick the snark manifested amidst this terrible tragedy. It's beyond me how gleeful some people seem that Texans are suffering.

2. Texas has been under Republican control for over 20 years. That mean the decision to remove Texas from the national energy grid to avoid regulation falls on Republicans. Nothing at all to do with the Green New Deal.
3. Ted Cruz said "F" you and jetted off to heat, water, and warmth in Mexico. He's only returning because he was shamed into it.

So, knowing that folks are lying to your face about why nearly the entire state doesn't have power (and now water), are you going to hold the right people accountable or are you going to accept what YOU know to be lies and randomly blame AOC and Democrats?
Not texan, but I don't look at this as a R vs D issue.
quite honestly, I don't think D led states would've fared any better.

it's an incompetency/indifference leadership issue, both private and public.
this fiasco and covid just highlights the failures in preparedness of our govt as a whole, in tackling large scale issues.

The Green New Deal is a dirty phrase in Texas now. That's how the cow ate the cabbage.

Ted is a United States Senator. He doesn't run power grids.

No, it’s nothing like that. Ergot was fined in 2011 for not winterizing. They said they would, and failed to do so. Pure negligence.

Was suggested they do, wasn’t made mandatory. Hopefully this time gov wises up and makes them.

That's true, but it wouldn't have stopped 2015/2016 Donald Trump from hammering Lyin' Ted (or is it Flyin' Ted, now?) over deserting his constituents in the middle of a state emergency. Trump would have roasted Ted for this, just like the Dems are currently doing.
