Mama and her attorney have been all over local news about her 13 year old son who was a good boy who wanted to be a cop.

Her 13 year old son reportedly had a gun, was with a 21 year old gang member, in an alley at 2:30 AM, on a school night, as it that mattered. Police responded to shots fired when they spotted the two in the alley and chased them on foot.

Kid had a history of going missing for days.

Mama is upset that it took several days before she was contacted and asked to visit the morgue to ID the boy.

Mama never reported him missing.

Body cam video will be released this week.

I wonder what that former mayor is doing now? Oh that's right, they have a job on ABC.
Body cam video will be made available this week.

Going back to the Laquan McDonald shooting ( 17 year old shot 16 times as he slowly walked away) 400 subsequent pages of Police reports failed to mention an officer shot the kid, let alone 16 x.

DOJ did an in-depth evaluation of CPD and identified a long history of poor training and use of excessive and deadly force with no consequences. It demanded very specific reforms.

The current mayor is the former head of a review board that investigated alleged police misconduct and made recommendations for action. She is beyond
despised by union leaders.

The city is approaching $1 billion in accumulated settlements for police misconduct going back to Richard M Daley’s 22 year reign.

That's concerning.

I was just driving passed the main corridor of Little Village on 26th St earlier this afternoon, and the place is a real hustle and bustle. A beautiful neighborhood in its vibrancy, but unfortunate to have a somewhat hardcore gang element that has existed for decades. Still, it doesn't stop 26th street from having the second biggest gross revenue in the city. From the suburbs of Berwyn and Cicero to the inner city of Little Village and Pilsen, it's like one compact Mexican/Hispanic metropolis in the region. I very much doubt there will be a riot(maybe a march though) over this. It's business as usual from my casual observation.

The rest of the story for those keeping track at home:
-only the shooting cop was found guilty, none of the cops that destroyed evidence or faked reports did.
-Mayor Rahm Emanuel helped in the cover-up, was supported by Pres. Obama when it broke and landed a gig at ABC and ironically kept it thru the year of BLM.
-Kudos to the Atlantic staff that revolted and made them remove him from an EDITOR position. Let that sink in...help cover up for abusive cops killing an unarmed black 17 year old? Get an editor gig at the Atlantic.
-Current mayor is better, I agree with that and in fairness I respect the entrenchment that she is up against. After all, when all 50ish aldermen are of the same political party and now the feds will help as well, it's going to be a tough sell to really root out trouble there.

P.S. Remember what happened to the FBI investigation of Blago? Why did it end early?

Same reason, Trump commuted Blago’s sentence?

The state has the distinction of having two former governors, one Republican and one Democrat, in prison at the same time.

There must be something in the water.

Local media reporting the family has viewed the tape and via their attorney has requested it not be made public, right now. Nonetheless, the city is obligated to make it public within 60 days.

The 13 year old was with a 21 year old gang member who was taking shots at a moving vehicle at 2:30 AM.

Cops responded to radar that picks up shots fired. They found the two of them in an alley. The 13 year old took off and cops pursued on foot.

The cops told the kid to drop the gun. Instead he turned towards the cops. And that was that.

The 21 year old gave fake names and the 13 year old had no ID. At the time of the shoot, cops had no way of knowing which of the 2 had fired shots at a moving vehicle.

The 13 year old had a history of disappearing for days and this time, his mother never reported him missing.

Speculation on my part, the 21 year old was showing the 13 year old how to take care of adversaries- shoot at the moving vehicle.

The kid, a 7th grader, obviously was not the good boy his mom thought he was. Family’s attorney needs time to reframe a law suit and attempt to broker a settlement.

Agitators are working the communities and unrelated communities who thus far, have been peacefully protesting.

The central business district is boarding up in case activists instigate violence and/ or looting, just because.
