I don't support riots, but I understand. Often times with riots after police brutality (King, Brown, Floyd, et. all); the riots happen not just because of the act, but socio-economic issues in general. King happened during the 1992 recession. Brown happened during the height of the minimum wage protests. Floyd happened during the COVID unemployment and rent strife. Often this event is the match that causes a ready stick of dynamite to blow. People overlook the socio-economic issues.
People riot because, for them, it's fun. Encourage them, tell them they're on the side of all that's right and good, and they'll be happy to riot every night from now until next winter.
Or tell them property is whiteness. That way they can get their “hate on” by stealing Nikes and can fight against oppressive podophobia at the same time! They’re defeeting whiteness wherever it is.

Some yes, like sports riots. Sports riots are not the same as these. These there are clear anger and desperation. Sports riots, there aren't evidence of anger. Sports riots aren't talked about in our conversations often, because we know those are random acts of violence that encourages more random acts of violence with no real cause. A riot like Floyd's is due to anger for a socio-economic situation and also an act and the desperation to ask to address the socio-economic unrest of the time and the political unrest due to the act itself
As an ex boss used to properly say (and I use the line w reports) everything after the but is...
In all cases.
But is the preface to your excuse.
Those who do not support riots, do not require a 2nd part to their statements.
To quote Lebowski, "Well that's like your opinion, man." I don't condone the riots. I don't think that understanding the why these occur is not independent from not liking the results. What are your opinions on the riot and the invasion at the Capitol? Was that warranted and do you understand the why it happened?
And don’t fund them to rebuild. Let them live in the dumps they created.
What say you about Texas with the snowstorm back in February since it got them major issues with electricity. It shouldn't be rebuilt. I hope you said the same stuff if Lake Erie flooded your town...
This is just a warm up for when the Floyd trial concludes
That's when the real lootin' starts!
