In some states a cop can shoot a criminal in the back who is running away if the criminal is a risk to the community.
Sure and Minnesota was one of those states that relied on the Connor V Graham case law (put not any more thanks to Chauvin). That objective reasonableness test largely hinges on the severity of the crime and whether there is an immediate threat to the Officers or the community.
An even tougher standard there now though.
Hopefully the cam footage shows the cops did the right thing.

Check out the Antwon Rose story. I think it happened in Pittsburgh. The police office was acquitted.
Ill wait for the body and dash cams before I decide for sure, but based upon police testimony it was a reasonable shoot. Sometimes it sucks to be a criminal.
Yes, we need more information before we commit mass insurrection.
The mother was on the radio saying her son was pulled over for having air fresheners hanging from the mirror, which seems dubious.

Sure, I think that was the right call by the jury and the cop.
Now if this 20 year old in this case had been pulled over for being involved in drive by shooting a couple of minutes earlier, the comparison would be relevant. Given the imminent threat to the community.
It was a textbook example of the Objective Reasonableness test being used properly.
