I don't think DC statehood is going to pass, so you can relax. It would take 60 votes in the Senate. I'm not sure if even all the democrats would vote for it.

Puerto Rico statehood, OTOH, you should support, providing the people of PR are in favor. There's just no reason not to allow them in the union.

If the GOP's appeal is so thin that allowing another state in means that you'll never win another election, then maybe republicans should re-evaluate their platform and their candidates. Start by booting Trump and other nut-jobs, and you can be very competitive.

Neither the left or the right care about the Constitution. It's ironic to see people trying to stack the Supreme Court making an appeal to the Constitution. And why would someone who hates this government and who feels powerless to change it, want to stay a part of it?

Reminds me of what Thomas Jefferson's wrote in the Declaration of Independence...

Perhaps you could use your brain and realize that most Democrats are voting to take money and other things from Republicans. There's no message that could appeal to such people other than "We surrender!"

No, it's "The people in power want to ignore the Constitution and persecute us, so we're going to exercise our right to govern ourselves."

It's kind of funny that the Republican definition of "persecution" is not being able to punish somebody because they aren't the right race, religion, class, or sexual orientation.

If your freedom depends on the oppression of others, you need to re-evaluate your definition of freedom.

I saw a bunch of them on Jan 6 including but not limited to Trump, Gaetz, Hawley and Cruz.

There won't be much left to secede with after Texas and Florida turn blue.
