There it is. A Democrat admits that he is so anti-business that he’s fine with killing off small businesses, who employ the majority of people, and getting millions more Americans dependent on the government dole.

They’re acting as if there are tons of people trying to support themselves on the minimum wage. The only time I ever earned minimum wage, or knew of people earning minimum wage, was during the high school and college years for extra spending money. Also, at one time when my siblings and I were older teens, my mother took a part-time MW job for something to do, and to add a few bucks to the family income.

For the minuscule number who ARE trying to support themselves on MW, they can either a) rent a room in someone’s house, b) rent a mediocre 3-bedroom apartment and split the rent, or c) go to a 6-month vocational program to learn a skill.

Minimum wage was not meant to be a living wage.

They do it with taxes. A person making $30,000 a year pays the same percent whether he makes it in New York City or Podunk Kansas.

There are jobs that pay $15 an hr or better, just not flipping burgers or emptying trash. Don't like your wage then increase your skillset.

2) if they don’t like the idea of sharing forever, then they can take advantage of Pell Grants to get an A.A. in a vocationally oriented program. Taxpayers’ treat!
Absolutely!

True.

But for it to take Covid for these morons to realize that they are slumlord business owners is stunning.

I take that back - they still haven’t learned. They’re still on here and on tv crying that “no one wants to work”.

Yeah, no one wants to work for you.

Quick, someone buy these cheapskate owners a mirror.

You do realize that if all of the so-called unskilled people get themselves a skill, that will mean even fewer workers willing to work for low wages for fast food, etc. places, right?

Then what?

The US military doesn't expect to pay newbies 15/hr, so why is the public expected to dish out the same? Public sector is much like the military. You start with the low paying jobs to get your feet wet, and then as time moves on, you move on to a higher position in the company, but if that company has nothing available, then you need to move to a company that does. If you can't find something in your niche, then that's when you either start a new career, or you branch out and created your own company.

I will admit though, it is tough to pay for food, housing and utilities, but just like the military where people are banded together to live in the barracks, public have banded to have roommates to spread out the costs.
