We've had this discussion a number of times.

Voter ID in itself is not bad but the system for acquiring the ID must be easily accessible to all.

In the past ID requirements have resulted in many not being able to acquire that ID.

As time goes on and we have become more sophisticated in our record keeping, and the process of acquiring ID has improved this will become less of a problem.

Unfortunately the VOTER ID requirements have impacted lower income folks primarily and in many areas -- in rural areas particularly -- it has impacted the people of color who don't have or didn't have official records that were recognized by the state agencies processing ID requests.

I think it is great that this issue will slowly cease to be a problem as we integrate the process into existing systems.

Anyone with any true intelutucally honesty would realize that voter ID is right and helps to ensure voting integrity. In my opinion if you are against voter ID, you're against voting integrity, plain and simple.

Not as easy to cheat the system with ID.

I responded to your first post and there was no link to any video.

My approach is usually to respond first to the original post....and if I have time to then go back and read through the thread and respond. Haven't gone through the whole thread yet.

Is 53% in favor of "overwhelming"?

That latest YouGov/The Economist poll found that Americans support requiring a photo ID in order to vote absentee, 53 percent to 28 percent.

I'd be fine with voter ID, if the IDs and any/all ancillary docs required to get the ID are made available free of cost.

Democrats must LUV corruption, eh?
You looked at the Texas proposals? Why is a middle of the night polling place less safe than a day time one?How about banning polls from opening on Sunday morning while all the week day polls can open at dawn. Could it be that they are blocking "Souls to the Polls" where the black churches set up to get the parishioners to the polls immediately after the Sunday Service. And what is wrong with a drive through poll.

Basically what you really have is a set of changes to make it not possible to do a number of things with high minority presence.

Democrats aren't Americans, so that makes sense.

My FIL has passed in 2014. He was a lifelong democrat. I doubt he'd recognize the party these days with the far left moves they've been making.

All of this cancel culture and talk of defunding the police would have been unheard of just a few short years ago.
