Another narcissist that wanted to make this all about him and his stupid stunt, knowing full well this sort of thing wasn't allowed.
And, of course, he can smugly sit back while the apologists find fault with the school and call it 'racist.' The school can explain it all they want, but it's futile against the SJW's.
And not surprisingly, majority of the YouTube video comments are all supportive of this individual.
A teen who wore a full-sized flag of Mexico to his high school graduation ceremony in North Carolina is at risk of not getting his diploma.
Video posted on Facebook by Asheboro City Schools shows the student had the flag draped like a cape over his graduation gown during the ceremony Thursday. The identity of the student was not released.
District officials say the ensemble was a blatant disregard for the event’s strict dress code and they are in discussions with the teen and his family over the fate of his diploma. Asheboro is about 75 miles northeast of Charlotte.
“Our graduation dress code is clearly shared with students ahead of time, and the wearing of a flag of any kind is a violation of the dress code,” the district said in a release.

The subtitles were hilarious. Apparently the software couldn't possibly translate from the spoken word. I wonder what name was translated "Awesome cars in wash"?

Reading the article, it appears he was a successful student and respected. If they really DID truly mean you can't wear a cape, there was more than ample time to tap him on the shoulder and tell him they were escorting him out of the line if he wears the cape across the stage.
In the future, if they want to enforce a dress code, they probably need to make it clear what the punishment will be - you won't receive a diploma. And if you're not dressed appropriately, you won't be able to cross the stage.
I personally think what they should do, in this case, is withhold his diploma until he completes community service hours for the school district. Give an inch, graduates will take a mile and each one thinks they are more and more clever.

The kid was stupid to do what he did, but what the school district is threatening to do is even more stupid.
I do see this frequently. Sometimes you have to withhold the diploma to have crowd control, or to pay back for lost text books or library fines.
Honestly, if you didn't have a stick to hold over the graduates, you'd have bedlam. Didn't used to be like that, but it is now. Honestly, families would shoot off fireworks from their chairs when their graduate crossed the stage if you didn't control it.
Speaking, as a chaperone of prom, homecoming, and graduations. Fun is fun, but lordy.
