Lol, funny how all these morons who have spent the last 4 years waving Trump flags around and drawing attention to themselves, now have a problem with someone publicly discussing their private life.

Wow...it took just over 100 posts before someone brings up Trump. I almost thought there would be a thread in P&C that didn't end up having someone mention Trump.
This "private person" made a very big announcement being the first active player in the NFL to "come out". If his teammates have no issue with it then great, he got his 15 minutes of fame and will be a footnote in sports history. But, in my opinion, for him to try and come off as it not being about publicity is disingenuous.

I don't believe that it is about publicity whatsoever. He's been in the NFL for 6 years already, why wouldn't have said this before? If you think that gay people are just 100% accepted in all walks of life, and that this announcement is equivalent to someone announcing that they are hetero, then you are absolutely deluded.
Love how he states that he didn't do it for the attention. Yet, he's on instagram and came out on it...seems like it's about the attention to me. What is wrong with just living your life, and showing up to the next team function with your boyfriend ? People will figure it out from there.

No, this video screams publicity.
I think he didn't do it for attention about himself, but to put attention on the bullying and harassment gays teens still face. That is why he is donating $100,000 to the Trevor Project, a program designed to combat the problem of suicide in gay teens.
It is necessary now because gay teens, even pre-teens get bullied still. There are even kids who are not gay, but are perceived as gay that get bullied.
