All I can say is bless her heart. Her research material on rural America was probably episodes of The Beverly Hillbillies, Petticoat Junction and Green Acres.
Its a darn shame they stopped sending out the Sears and Roebuck catalogues.
Buy something from Cabela's and you get enough catalogues you'll never run out.
Well I live in a rural area. Back in the 80's I worked for a government office and I had to make home visits to places the higher up state level employees were afraid to go. There were still houses with outhouses, well pumps and some with no electricity. Heck I had friends out in those hollers. Guess what, even then most of them drove so yes they had ID. Those who didnt had someone who would "carry them" where they wanted to go, grocery store, church, bank, drug store, doctor, Dairy Queen, court house, to vote, etc. Everyone had some form of ID.
My grands, my parents and all their siblings were born at home. Only one grandpa ever had a DL but all my grands were able to get a state ID and go wherever they needed to go.
I just recently moved from a small rural town..5K pop..more cows than people. I lived there 8 years and worked in the middle school there and witnessed the same thing.
I wish someone would invite Ms. Harris to this rural America. She could get a bologna samich at Randall Taye's store, he probably has a copy machine in there she could use. Depending on the time of year she could then go on down to Hanging Limb and watch the rodeo, then over to Muddy Pond and watch the Mennonites make sorghum (I bet they have got a copy machine around there somewhere too). To top off her stay in rural USA she could stop off at the steal bridge over the east fork obey river and take a dip, as long as its not Sunday, they still do baptism in the river sometimes.
Well, you know, they could hitch the mules up and ride on into town twenty miles away and hire a portrait artist. Or do they have daguerreotype out there now?

I remember the no-thought line that Democrats trotted out about how voter ID was wrong, because you shouldn't need an ID to exercise a constitutional right. Not a single Democrat actually believes that, but it was repeated as nauseum.
I can prove not a single Democrat believes it. Times where you will need a photo ID to exercise a constitutional right: buy a gun, travel back into the country, register to run for office, etc. Never have heard a single Democrat complain.
There is no Constitutional right to vote.
