Florida coronavirus cases jump 50% as surge continues
Florida’s coronavirus cases jumped 50% this week, the state Health Department reported Friday, continuing a six-week surge that has seen it responsible for 1 in 5 new infections nationally, becoming the outbreak’s epicenter.
The release came shortly after Gov. Ron DeSantis barred school districts from requiring students to wear masks when classes resume next month.
More than 110,000 new coronavirus cases were reported statewide over the past week, up from 73,000 last week and 11 times the 10,000 reported the week of June 11, six weeks ago. Case numbers are now back to where they in January, just before vaccinations became widely available. https://apnews.com/article/health-fl...22269a2ef174ce
I don't think your numbers are correct but if true this is a big problem with the ICU's filling up.
No one can predict the future, the best scientists in the world can't tell you where this ends up. Over time the population has increased and intermingled to a great degree, the past is a terrible indicator of the future.
The numbers are public... go check the Florida web site for covid. How do you know ICU's are filling up? I get the increase in hospitalizations, but how do you know it's ICU's?
Also ... hospitals will admit anyone with covid EVEN if hospitalization is 'unnecessary'. They're making a ton of money off this illness. Many could be sent home, but there's no money in that. How do I know this? ask a paramedic about how many transports they're doing, for those who are scared that they might have covid.
No one keeps records of unnecessary covid admittances.
The ones who aren't smart enough are the ones who choose government to run their lives. Children
Precisely my thoughts. They can't think for themselves. They need the government or the media to think for them and tell them what to do. They call these people "sheeple".
Lots of Trumpsters are going to die in Florida over the next few months. I'll try really hard to care...
No one is asking you to care. It is YOU (and others like you) who are sticking your nose into other people's business. How about butting out? You take care of YOUR business and let other people do likewise.

You conveniently forgot to mention that the death rate is about one-tenth (1/10) of what it was back in January. That's because the majority of those getting the virus today are the younger and healthier people... which is precisely those who need to get/have immunity in order for herd immunity to happen.
Remember that term "herd immunity"? That's what Fauci and all the other "experts" were preaching that we needed a year ago. Now that we are approaching true herd immunity, you're bitching about it. Go figure.
My guess is that since Biden is letting illegals into the country from Mexico and warmer climates they would have the propensity to gravitate to Florida.
President Joe Biden has continued a policy — initiated by Donald Trump — to restrict Americans’ travel to Mexico, as a way to fight the spread of COVID-19.
Furthermore, Biden is also moving to limit border crossings in another way. Homeland Security announced July 26 that it would quickly turn back migrant families that immigration officials determine do not qualify for asylum during a fast-tracked screening process.

How does one account for 900% increase in covid cases in the Rio Grande sector?
We ALL know the border policy is a failure of epic proportions. It's indefensible and only lies can divert from the truth at this point. See Kamala Harris for reference.
