“Joe Biden has the nerve to tell me to get out of the way on COVID while he lets COVID-infected migrants pour over our southern border by the hundreds of thousands. No elected official is doing more to enable the transmission of COVID in America than Joe Biden with his open borders policies.”
— Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, in a fundraising letter, Aug.4, 2021.
“He’s imported more virus from around the world by having a wide-open southern border.”
— DeSantis, during a news conference, Aug. 4, 2021
You don't need to do much in the way of research, around 97% of the patients entering hospitals are unvaccinated. This is all unnecessary if people would just get vaccinated.
These are facts. The red hats don't do facts. Fake news is their forte. You are wasting your breath if you think that poster is interested in anything that is real when he can just make up or regurgitate fake talking points.
All true. He never said the delta variant or the surge in Florida was ALL from illegal immigrants.
Does thousands upon thousands of illegals who possibly have covid and other unknown variants contribute to case load?
Yes they do.
Does Florida get a higher share (3rd) of illegal immigrants than other states?
Yes they do
Is McAllen TX setting up emergency covid facilities becasue of the covid infections crossing the border?
Yes they are
Shall we continue?
With the exception of 2 tiny (below 200K population) countries, every single country in North America has a lower rate of Covid-19 then the United States. Adding more of them would reduce the covid rate in those states. Making this right wing argument blaming them sort of a whole lot of nonsense. And its designed to target peoples fear of the "other". To deflect blame from poor leadership, onto another group.

The governor is a vocal supporter of vaccinations. Shall we force people to get vaccines now?
No one is denying the data. In fact the surge was predicted by the governors immunologist, just not to this degree, because the algorithms did not see the change in the contagiousness of the variant.
The delta variant is more contagious and less virulent.

The party of personal responsibility? Please.
counties or countries... I'm not following.
This isn't a right wing argument. If you want to make it political we can do that.
If you've been following, I'll assume you haven't.... I've posted a ton of data, research, white papers and web sites. Post your data or link since you're trying to make a point.
Your realize of course black and brown people are the lowest segment of the population getting the vaccine... right? There's another thread on C-D discussing as much. Those folks are mostly democrats. For the record I want them to get vaccinated. In fact most of the 50+ vaccine promotional events done by Governor DeSantis were done down in south Florida, where the most black and brown people live. Go figure.
Your hyperbole is unfound in facts and truth. People such as yourself are peddling fear over facts, lies over truth.
If you have something to add... then put on you thinker-upper and join the conversation, but quit with the drive by posts.
It is possible that minorities have some of the lowest participation rates, but the majority of the unvaccinated are Republicans, and those who have been improperly influenced by Republican propaganda. They have got ordinary folks (of every ethnic background) afraid to take it, and some who do take it don't want their neighbors and family to know!
This is just plain ridiculous. The leadership have all been vaccinated: Trump (and the kids), DeSantis and nearly all of the Republican governors, nearly all of the Republicans in the US House (including MTG and MG) and the US Senate, all of the commentators on Fox. They don't want to tell anyone though, they object to even being asked ... wtf?
But these people have been enabling the anti-vaxxers with their lies and innuendo. They have been pushing misleading and dangerous ideas about the vaccine and the good people who are attempting to administer it. They have been playing a game with people's lives and we are seeing the sad results of this now. Yes, most of those people burning up in Florida, Alabama, Mississippi et al are Republican anti-vaxxers.
Don't play this off, it is your people who have been leading innocents down this dangerous path.

Where exactly are you getting thousands upon thousands?
And maybe I'd sort of buy the story if the ones being admitted to the hospitals were all these thousands upon thousands of illegal immigrants. But they aint ofcourse.

What segment of the population has the lowest vaccination rates?
A) white red necks and wingers
B) democrats
c) republicans
D) black and brown people
The correct answer is D and they're mostly democrats so B would be partial credit. There's anther thread on C-D about this very subject, please go there to vent.

The fake news on this issue came from the CDC.
