It is reassuring. But bad medicine.
Bad medicine is nothing new, but the big problem in this case is substituting a possibly effective treatment with the proven vaccines.
And that really scares us docs.
I am not a liberal nor a Trump devotee but I am fine with people taking whatever they want for whatever reason they want. Cigarettes are legal. With that being true there is no justification for anything else being illegal.

Sure for the lay public. But not legitimate docs without specific reasons, oversight and controls.
Claiming any treatment of the symptoms of CIVID as a cure is lunacy. Various treatments maybe helpful in reducing the severity of the illness, none of them are cures and none of them are guaranteed
It's weird how many liberals, media, and celebrities are against ivermectin. Last I checked, these are the same people who buy street drugs to get high, or get Adderall and Xanax prescriptions illegally. It's almost like they are in a Covid cult where they refuse to deviate from the official creed.

We have warning labels on smokes. Put warning labels on whatever might be a problem. In Mexico almost everything is OTC. You don't hear about any issues with that.

It isn't people betcritical. It's being sure to point out it isn't a cure all
I'm a liberal but I'm not fanatically against someone trying other treatments. Some of these treatments might work but there just isn't proof--yet. At least they are testing the treatments. Since the treatments are being tested, it's false to say that people are fanatically against them.
OTOH, there are a lot of people (like me) who are highly susceptible to this disease and who would much rather have people get vaccinated instead of possibly spreading it around. If and when the treatments are proven to work and the protocols have been figured out, then go ahead and use them instead of a vaccine. But while you are sick, please quarantine yourself so as not to spread the disease to the more vulnerable until the treatments are available to all of us. I hear they're working on a tablet of some sort instead of a vaccination. They are working on a lot of different things, but let's admit it--this entire thing is a mess and if you're not vaccinated, at least be respectful enough to wear a GOOD mask when you are around other people.

A lot of what I see recently in the media deliberately conflates it with 'horse paste' and 'cow dewormer.' This is an intentional campaign to disparage a widely used drug. I've listened to hours of lectures about ivermectin by Pierre Kory and others, including my own practitioner who uses it. No one claims it is magic. No one even claims it works alone. It is used in combination with other drugs, and helps some people. The FLCCC continually updates it early treatment protocols, for example. The way I see it, it is better than nothing. Prescribed by a doctor, it is safe. Even a placebo is better than nothing.
