See, there's all manner of these things called hand tools made for cutting everything from trees to blades of grass. They are operated by hand, powered by people power, used for thousands of years before power tools became popular. Lots of people still use hand tools. And a bonus is there are no emissions from hand tools.

You are forgetting about the labor shortage. There are not enough minimum security prisoner fire fighters to do that task by human power.

Governments ban things.

That's what they do.

They have no respect for your rights.

Is this really a revelation?

Battery technology changes from year to year, they are always getting better, by 2024, its a safe bet, battery technology will be up to the task.

Once everything is electric the CA government will take over as power supplier and be able to control everyone by granting electricity to those who have enough social credits. Isn't it obvious?

I can't agree about that. There is no labor shortage anywhere in the world, there are too many people everywhere, too much automation that gets taken for granted and too many lazy whoosies who don't know the meaning of real work.

A desire for future survival is a powerful motivator. If people want to survive they might have to be willing to get off their lazy duffs and away from their keyboards and gas, electrical or battery powered toys and actually put their backs into doing some real work using their bodies and hand tools. There is 10 times more than enough man power to go around if man power is what will be needed if people want to survive.

I don't see the big deal here. This is a states rights issue. Let them do as they wish. The biggest leaps in the progress of mankind tend to come from the pioneers. Maybe the free market will devise better alternatives than the plug in electric garbage we have now. Yes the progressives are a bit nutty but without "progressives" our species would never have evolved... Those first scientists telling the sheeple at the time that the earth was round and not the center of the universe...I have respect for what CA is trying to accomplish.

I heard a poster say that where CA goes the rest of the country follows...maybe not entirely but to some extent. Like it or not life and culture and the universe are not static...change is a constant to living in this matrix. The fact is many of these small 2 and 4 stroke engines are some of the biggest polluters... It's only a matter of time before a better alternative comes along.

This law takes effect in 2024, or whenever feasible, whichever date is later. California is also going to subsidize small businesses to help them retool. This is the first step in an effort to move to lower emission items, which is a great goal.
So subsidizing equals more tax dollars and more Government CONTROL genius.
