In an almost unbelievable piece of good luck, it doesn't appear that anyone was killed, at least not immediately.

That looks so very violent - it's a miracle if we only have survivors.

Pretty much this. In many downtown areas in Florida, either be it Stuart, Jupiter, Palm Beach, Lake Worth, etc, they redid the roads 15 years ago where they have hydraulic barriers that can come up or down on demand, and they were put in place for parades or street parties.

This Milwaukee news link says at least 1 dead. Another story within this link says "more than one dead".
