What studies have shown that healthcare workers are transmitting the disease to patients?

They weren't. Mayo Clinic had 99% compliance. The anti-vaxxers were a tiny minority.
Yes, but 700 people are still a LOT of people.

hmm, what does the dictionary say? A vaccine is "a substance used to stimulate the production of antibodies and provide immunity against one or several diseases" That's exactly what mRNA vaccines do.

The mRNA was designed and tailored to fight the Alpha variant. Alpha has pretty much disappeared, which is a testament to how effective the vaccine was. Even though mRNA is a not a perfect fit against Delta and Omicron, it has proven to be very effective at keeping people out of the hospital.

mRNA is one of the greatest scientific achievements in our lifetimes. At some point down the road I have no doubt some Nobel prizes will be handed out. mRNA technology has saved thousands, if not millions, of lives.

Covid vaccines definitely don’t provide immunity.

All vaccines were developed, trialed and approved for emergency use BEFORE the Delta variant emerged among the 1.4 billion unvaccinated in India and is twice as contagious as the original virus. Then came Omicron from with the 1.2 billion unvaccinated in Africa. It is twice as contagious as Delta.

No vaccine is nearly as effective on these variants at preventing infection. They are however reducing the incidences of serious Covid.

The flu shot is reformulated each ear based upon dominate viruses in the Southern Hemisphere. Last year’s flu shot is not effective against this year’s strains The flu shot does not ensure immunity. It does however reduce symptoms and complications.

Hospitals generally don’t discriminate between clinical and non- clinical employees and volunteers when it comes to mandatory vaccines.

Thinking the terminated clinical employees, especially CNAs, may likely land in nursing homes, some of which may not require vaccines. Hardly comparable to Mayo in terms of resume, pay and benefits.
That’s not correct. We over 30% of hospitals require employees to be vaccinated.

With this new variant that does not prevent vaccinated and boosted people from catching omicron, wouldn’t it be wise to drop the pointless mandates?

Kudos to Mayo Clinic for doing the right thing. Proof of having had numerous FDA approved vaccinations have always been a condition of employment there. You don't like the rules at your job? Find the nearest door with an EXIT sign over it.

The right thing, huh....

Do you think the staff shortages might lead to some issues?

Do you also think that medical professionals refusing the vax, might have very good reason to refuse it?

THINK ABOUT IT.

The assumption being made is that these are all healthcare workers and thus doctors and nurses etc.

It may very well be that many are clerical workers, security, receptionists, janitors, accountants etc. etc.
