If you are not infected you cannot spread it.
But if you are vaccinated you can.
Un-vaccinated not infected don't spread it either.

You can spread it if you are infected, vaccinated or not. However, the vaccinated are 30% less likely to be infected than the unvaccinated.
Covid hospitalizations are setting record numbers today, which I assume means at no other time were so many hospitalized with the virus. That would include the initial period when there were no vaccines. So, this must mean there are more unvaccinated now than when there were no vaccines?

Of course the doctor will say that. Every doctor will say that. It absolves them from any wrong doing should you investigate what happened.
Doctor: Not my fault. Should've been vaccinated. It's a get out of jail free card for doctors.
If I were you, I'd investigate what happened once he set foot in the hospital. YMMV.

30% is not impressive for something that most handle fairly well.
