Well that may take time that we can't afford if all hell breaks loose.

What's your definition of "all hell breaking loose"? Are you anticipating a long and protracted ground war with the ChiComs? Where is the Biden cabal going to get all of these conscripts from? Starbucks? college campuses? their parent's basements? Good luck with that!

These are some opinions about how a war with China might unfold and they don't include sending unmotivated and poorly trained draftees into combat where they'll be useless to their well trained volunteer counterparts many of whom are combat veterans.

Not surprising that this administration and the military complex are pushing for war.

But wait didn't the left accuse Trump for leading us into a imagery war numerous times with numerous countries for all four of his years in office? Good thing they took away the red nuclear button from him.

Now the left is pushing for a real war and already sending our young off in some foreign land that the majority of American couldn't find on a map?

If it wasn't for Hunter ties to Ukraine I am sure Biden couldn't find Ukraine on the map either. Maybe its Hunter's financial stake in Ukraine that Biden out to protect.

If a draft was reinstated the population of Canada would grow greatly.

Well if there is a war there are plenty of "unaccompanied minors" coming across the border everyday, you know the ones with the neck tattoos that look closer to 30 then 15..

I wonder if all those hundreds of thousands of young "migrant" men are required to sign up for the selective service?

I couldn't imagine being in the military and being forced to go to the Ukraine because Biden wants to protect his sons interests in some quid pro quo he worked out when he was VP. Talk about risking your life for nothing but a political game.

https://www.sss.gov/register/immigrants/

Immigrant Men Are Required to Register

With very few exceptions, all immigrant males between ages 18 and 25 are required by law to register with the Selective Service System (SSS) within 30 days of arriving in the United States. This includes naturalized citizens, parolees, undocumented immigrants, legal permanent residents, asylum seekers, refugees, and all males with visas more than 30 days expired.
Non-Immigrant Foreigners

Non-immigrant men living in the United States on a valid visa are not required to register for as long as they remain on a valid visa up until they turn 26

In England during war, you were required to enlist if you were an able body male. If you refused to enlist or fight, you were thrown in jail. If you came home on leave and didn't return back to your unit on time, and didn't have a valid excuse - you were shot for desertion.

How does military enlistment work in socialist/marxist countries now? In case you are not paying attention - greater authoritarian control is what they are working towards in the US.

It's not as easy for an American to relocate to Canada as it once was. Understandably, they don't want jobless, penniless and unskilled public charges draining their social services.

There will not be another draft. If the need for draft comes, it means we are almost likely to be in WW3 scenario which means nuclear war.

That is true. A draft requires the "right kind" of war.

A draft is useful when a war needs "cannon fodder" for the long term. That's a war that is low-tech enough to need human cannon fodder, slow enough to be fed by the process of training cannon fodder, too bloody and too intense to be met by normal volunteer accession, but not so intense as to trigger strategic counter-nation strikes.

The US fights wars today that are high-tech enough that normal volunteer accession meets manpower needs.

That could be a limited-scope, intense war like the Iraq invasion or a low-level war like the Afghanistan invasion. Both of those allowed the use of technology to limit casualties to the level met by normal volunteer accession.

The last "cannon fodder" war was Vietnam, the kind of war the US will never fight again. A war with Russia or China would be too intense to be fed by the long process of cannon fodder and the possibility of triggering strategic counter-nation strikes is too high.

The United States will never again fight the kind of war that could utilize a draft.
