Wouldn't it be less expensive to put a $1,000,000,000 price tag on Putin's head?

You can bet all those billions will be used to rebuild all of the cities/town in Ukraine.
Anything seized will be challenged and will need to work its way through the courts. The outcome in many of those cases is far from certain.

I can't see how this will end well for Russia.

Russia is on the verge of economic collapse, and unlikely to find much international support in getting back on its economic feet.

They can sell oil at at 20% discount to India, but that appears to be about it.

Not only is their economy on the decline, but so is the population.

According to statistics released by Rosstat, Russia's population declined by more than one million people in 2021.

This is an historic drop, not seen since the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Between the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and the number of Russians who've packed up and left Russia, the population decline is likely to continue in 2022

So economic collapse, population decline, and nearly universally despised.

Difficult to see the upside to this.

I hope it's the end of Putin's leadership and thiose responsible for war crimes are brought to account, although there are obvious difficulties in bringing such people before the International Courts.

Supporting the sovereign nation of Ukraine, and backing its citizens in their fight to maintain their independence & democracy is not warmongering.

Commenting on the legitimate alarm the savage attack on this nation raises, discussing concerns regarding the freedom of the millions of citizens of Ukraine as their lives, homes and communities are being destroyed---by a despotic Russian leader's barbaric invasion and his unprovoked declaration of war--- is not a desire to enter into WWIII. It actually is the exact opposite of warmongering.

Are you aware that twisty Putinesque innuendo, such as yours, is mimicking people like Fox News’s Tucker Carlson, and other r-wing anti-democratic zealots, who falsely imply that the attention being paid to Russia’s evil wrongdoing is simply a function of eagerness for America to enter war? American and European leaders and NATO have been trying to figure out how better to assist Ukraine, and prevent Putin's ruthless war on self-determination and democracy from creeping across Europe, without risking direct conflict with a nuclear-armed state led by a reckless megalomaniac.

When is someone going to jump out behind Tucker Carlson during his broadcast with a sign that reads "Don't believe the propaganda! You are being lied to here!"

The Russian army will never be able to occupy Ukraine. At best, it will be able to occupy some portions along the edge, but even that will come at a cost.

Hate, loathing, and disgust are indeed powerful emotions.

Hard to see a way out of this for Russia.

Keep your eye on the ball. We’re talking about something happening right now. What we’ve done right or wrong is irrelevant
